Scott, I made the leap for exactly the same reason as you. However I discovered Plex's dedicated Music streaming app PlexAmp and its changed everything and addresses most of your issues. I have it on my phone and Macbook. Give it a go!

Most people don't care about 'democracy' it has nothing to do with that - it was its lack of apps, pure and simple. I loved all the analysts predictions years ago saying they were going to get 25% market share - this wasn't 1 analyst, it was the vast majority.

iphone will 'fall', oh come on - its market share will fall but it will continue to make all the profits.

Microsoft have not bothered to address the massive app deficit - its biggest flaw. They also canned the idea to allow android/apple apps to run on Windows Phone 10. It's almost like it wants its platform to fail.

What has been suggested in the review (Spotify integration) is a pretty ridiculous one given it would require a sim card of sorts, and 4G connection... in earphones... in 2016.

Great concept but poor apps. Without apps I wont be switching - criples the entire platform. Forcing you to use Bing as an example - ridiculous.
