Ava - you must try This War of Mine! It is a tremendous experience and although the first-time setup is a little heavy, the gameplay is not at all. The instructions walk you through a turn in a very comfortable manner. It’s very much worth it - I hope you find a chance to do so! Lots of great story and tough feelings come out of this box.

I was also kind of stupified to see Quinns’ beautiful polished board and to hear the price point. We grew up with a painted particleboard Crokinole set (in tasteful red and yellow, no less). There was no “gliding” on that behemoth. You had to work for your shots, and your fingernails were sore before long from the ultra-friction-y flicking workout.

Solidly agree. The original version's art had a cartoonish glee that seems to have been replaced with a tasteful smirk. And, while this is going to sound like grumpy old man reactionism, sometimes better is not better. That cardboard pyramid was not perfect, but it was clever and nifty because they made it work out of cardboard. The plastic version just seems more like something that would come in a 8.99 game from Wal-mart. Luckily, it's not a game I feel any need to upgrade or replace.

I played fuse a few times but you are right, it is sooo hard! I find it invigorating, but not entirely pleasant - in the way you might slap yourself in the face to stay awake on a long late-night drive.

Yes, Billson supported Brown and yes, tech companies are letting it be known that London needs fibre optics to compete with other Ontario cities. There's nothing secret about it, and hopefully this council realizes fibre will be a better investment in attracting and retaining jobs than factory land.

Every time I think I might be softening on Cheng, I read more of his own words. It's just blather. Empty slogans. He can't be trusted with leading council and our city. He simply has no idea how any of it works. Good intentions are not enough.
