The entire time that he was under the snow,
the camera blue screened from the snow and just the eerie sound of him
breathing via the Avalung. And he was experiencing that trauma for
over four minutes; we literally watching someone about to die of
aphixsiation (spelling wrong I'm sure). It's a sobering feeling
watching it because even though we know he survives, you still feel as
if you're lying next to him buried in the snow.

Re: An Expat in London

Think he did mention the discovery (but not the mastery or
understansing the purpose) of texting. Twitter would be a giant leap
for him but who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Re: Twitter Fills The Tank

Thanks for the answers. The conflict question struck me as I was
reading the post so figured the AVC community would know.

And agreed, I wouldn't pick Keystone as my first choice either but
sounded like Fred was already going there. A-Basin was always my first
choice for Summit Co., less resort pretentiousness, it's just about
the skiing there. Went to school out there but neve made it to
Silverton Mountain, that should be on top of everyone's list.

Re: Twitter Fills The Tank

Congrats Fred and USV. two quick questions:

1) Wondering how typical it is to have several VCs invested in the same company (or what the average number of VC investors is, or maybe there is no average number, it just depends on the situation and the company).

2) You specified that USV & Spark are re-investing to maintain an ownership position. VCs obviously bring more than just capital to to the table so when multiple VCs are involved, what's the process for managing the strategic advice coming from different VCs? Not suggesting that there will be disagreements on fundamental things like strategic direction but wondering how a startup works with advice & support coming from different actors in the investment.

Thanks and hope you're hitting the slopes at Keystone. Hit the Outback for the good stuff. Cheers.

Re: An Expat in London

Hah hah, that's a good idea and economical too, I like it. I still use Last.fm b/c of the iPhone and iTunes integration but for discovering new music and bookmarking/saving those new discoveries, that all happens on HM.

Re: How To Survive A Horrible Seat Assignment

What's worse than sitting next to a baby or a large person on a plane?

Having the person sitting next to you say that they get motion sickness...True story, on a trans-Atlantic flight http://tinyurl.com/5mvwt8

Re: An Expat in London

Yup, that's the one!
