I'm actually a big supporter of TNR since I've seen it work. It turned a bad (and worsening) situation in my neighborhood into one that everyone can live with. No more kittens, no more tom cat's spraying everywhere, no more cat fights, and no more queens howling in heat. Plus, all of the cats are much healthier now. So while it does take a lot of dedication and hard work to get the cats TNR'd, once that's done the long-tern management of the colony is fairly easy. Just need to make sure the cats have some sort of winter shelter and of course food.

This is an issue that I've struggled with since cats are an invasive species and aren't meant to live in an environment like NYC. But from what I've seen, TNR works better than trap-and-kill. I also love cats, and I've seen that a properly TNR'd colony can live long, good lives. They also do an incredible job keeping mice and rats out of our neighborhood, which is no small task in New York.

For more info people can check out these three organizations that helped me get my TNR project off and running:

www.neighborhoodcats.org
www.urbancatleague.org
www.alleycat.org

Re: The Golden Projector

I used that particular picture of Chicago to highlight the fact that the city itself burns far brighter than the pitch black sky above it.

And speaking of the drivers seat, I really hope you're nowhere near one, Charles.

Re: Martian Peek-a-boo

Hey I'm damn proud of that name.
