good stuff, enjoyed this. It captures, in words, some of the energy and excitement going on recently in circles containing many of the artists here.
random thoughts:

dunno about dnb getting its groove back as a whole...it seems like dnb has gotten 'a' groove back, in part only...

everyone mentioned here is either a longtime head that grew up with UK jungle culture or was influenced by it and has just soldiered on, finally finding the sweet spot in this juke jungle realm.

while they, and dnb itself, were finding themselves from say post-Pendulum, basically a whole generation of ravers grew up with that new style sound of Hospital and even RAM. The youth that is caught up in the "edm" resurgence, the concert mentality partiers waned on big drops, short attention spans and dubstep grinding. That mainstream dnb is huge.

This 'new' 'movement' is a drop in the bucket.
But hipsters and old UK bass 'soldiers' that have stuck with it or went away and rediscovered slower bpms and other styles like techno and have been longing for something to come back to, are a growing community force but a niche one.
Good music obviously never went away. Just a bit easier to find right now with more and more focus/attention on these elements (elements we love so much). Hopefully can open some of that 'lost generation's' eyes.

On the cycles tip, this all seems part of the Hardcore Continuum so I must say Long live the Hardcore Continuum to that as well hehe.

back on this site, reading Shpongle reviews and daydreaming about the old days... (great that site is still kicking, amazing really)....
And then I discover this Ott release....
Just on first listen of Shpongle and yes, mediocre, and now this pleasant surprise of Ott....really all takes me back, having not touched anything psy-related in years, this will set me on a trip down memory lane of epic proportions that I might not come out from til end of summer....

amazing amazing for Mensah to do a full mix like this. Off the Traxx is a masterpiece and it remained to be seen if he hit the mark with more NYTA material -- this is the one.

the cops are part of the real community too. is it all about sharing? it is about organization and meta data too. Facebook and twitter/twitpic things aren't anywhere near the level of data flickr houses with photos. You can use it lightly or delve deep in the heavy features, it can support both.

using Lucene for this sort of system was a very natural fit. Inevitable some might say. It's the ongoing development and tweaking to improve it that's interesting.

ha, I just did this earlier today on my own....because yeah, obviously, oldtwitter styled backgrounds don't work at all......... But I tried to keep some elements in strategic places so that looking at individual tweet pages on both the oldtwitter and newtwitter would get something more than the general background bit that is visible from the main twitter stream. Tiled pattern backgrounds are the way to go, with maybe some 'more info' graphics in the central area that is more visible in tweet pages or behind the transparent zone in the newtwitter.
