Sounds like you did it just at the right time! I did mine back in 1992 over some months on a part-time morning basis. When i got back to work, I used to nearly fall asleep in my 221 class those afternoons! :-D Poor students!!!

BTW Did you have to shake off any bad habits on the course?

It's our finest hour when bad habits are replaced by really effective teaching coupled with experience and so an awareness of what goes on in the classroom. There are often some complete novice stars too. Both great achievements.

Re: http://www.eteachersacademy.com/

Thanks for your very valid comment on this and I'd agree with you about the pages being rather threadbare at this early stage. Difficult imagine what might come when considering signing up. I'm waiting for more substance too.

I also agree with you about the theconsultants-e when you say they are well-known and respected etc in the ELT profession. Have you ever taken one of their courses? I'm really interested to hear from someone who has. They are, however, a different kettle of fish.

This new site is for (esablished) teachers who may be thinking of running their own small schools or working for themselves... and are dreaming of transfering all or some of their teaching work online in the future. It aims to give them the tools to do so.

Obviously, that has to be made clear from the onset, you're right.

Thanks again for your addition to the post!
Chris

Re: teacher development - http://www.xtranormal.com/watch?e=20090605010334703...

I like all the subtle body language going on! Must check this little tool out to see how far we can take it..... Have you shot any more scenes, Director?

Re: New beginnings

Thanks for your comments and compliments, Darren! Looking forward to adding a little to this already rich teacher blog project!
Chris
