Structured metadata seems like one of the holy grails for Evernote users, I really wish it was extensible in some way.

By any chance, have you tried Delish? While it's still a tad rough around the edges I've found it to be a fantastic Pinboard client and a better experience than using the site, Fluid app or otherwise.

I think we had different Windows Mobile experiences there Dave, maybe because I was using a PDA and you were using phones?

Anyway, on the three Windows Mobile devices I owned the only way to upgrade was to buy a new model. Theoretically updating was probably possible, but it wasn't worth it for the device manufacturers. I think it usually required devices to be sent in for the upgrade as well for the few devices I saw that did let you update more then a point release.

When I first loaded it up on launch I immediatly deleted it because it was so slow (loading content and navigating around), I tried it again with the latest version and am finding it quite enjoyable now. I'll send them $1 for a while.

There are several out in the jailbreak community but you won't be seeing one come to the official App Store until Apple lets apps change settings via the API (in other words, never).

I think you're missing part of the equation. It's very easy to use the argument that stealing digital stuff that can be copied 100 billion times isn't actually taking away something limited but that mindset doesn't belong in modern society. In fact, I believe you'd be hard pressed to justify that argument in any society of any economic maturity because intellectual property takes work and people are paid for it.

Art, books, music and other media are rarely sold based on the price of the materials; materials are part of the equation but it often isn't a significant of one. Now that we have technology that eliminates the materials but you're still left with the value of the work and the value of the quality of the media and every time you choose to download something you should have paid for you are stealing the value of the content. If you truly believe that the media you pirate is worth nothing then you wouldn't be consuming it, the value you give that media is the time and attention you use to procure it and to watch, listen, read or play it. That value belongs to the creator.

Frankly Dave, I think that's exactly what they've done, they just took too long making it a permanently accessible option. Had they announced it would be free forever a few years ago I think it would have been game over for anyone else.

Keep in mind that Apple shipped Snow Leopard early and caught a lot of developers unprepared, I don't think it's fair to hold that against them.

Sweet, I can't wait to see the update, Nambu is so close to being exactly what I want but the stability issues hold it back. I'll keep a close watch on the blog for a sign up but I definitely want to be in the beta!

Looks fantastic, can't wait!

However, until we have an analog stick attachment I don't think the iPhone can really be the perfect mobile platform, there are just some things that still require a different method of control.

I'm tired of the touch screen versions (just like I was tired of it the moment Nintendo did it on the DS with Mario 64). Please Apple, please give us a gamer accessory for FPS, Fantasy and Adventure games!

However, I can't tell you the last time I picked up my DS and if I had to choose a gaming system the iPhone's the one I want in my pocket. I just want Zelda on it too.

You know Gary, I love watching WLTV, your knowledge is immense and your passion for wine is infectious. However, I have to say I'm even more excited to see your videos here! Whether I see it on Twitter or in Google Reader, if you post a new video I stop everything and come over to see what you have to say.

PS: Whenever I tell people about WLTV I always say they need to sit through two or three videos before they can decide whether they like you or not because it seems like the people who are turned off initially by how over the top you usually end up really liking the show once they dig into it a bit.
