The last time I was there (months ago as I moved out of the area a while back), their zucchini fries were cut differently (they were actually cut very much like the greek fries used to be cut) and weren't nearly as good. I want to know if that was a one time oddity or if it's permanent. I like the old style (french fry style) much better. :( I make a special trip to Magnolia every so often just to go to Niko's. I hope they don't change things too much!

Speaking as a vet tech, suggesting to people that it's better to try to treat Parvo at home instead of hospitalizing your pet is a TERRIBLE idea. You simply cannot provide the same level of care at home as a veterinary hospital, and the likelihood of the pup recovering will be greatly decreased. People are going to read this article and think it's ok not to take their sick puppies to the vet at all. You should be ashamed of yourselves for posting this terrible advice and misinformation, Animal Planet.

I used to live on 24th Ave. W. and have always thought that those streets should be accessible for residents of the street, just not for through-traffic. A "residential traffic only" or "no thru traffic" sign might be more appropriate.

Our weed eater was stolen off our porch last summer, in a fenced yard on a busy street. Can't turn your back for a minute anymore without something like that happening.

If you can catch the cat and take him down to the vet clinic, they will scan him for a microchip for free and contact his owners if he has one.

You can get them, just not through the store. You just need friends who have them to breed. My best suggestion is to find as many friends as you can through the interest pages and ask around to find someone willing to breed one for you.

I am with this. Though at this point, I do feel it would be in the best interest of the coyotes and the community for them to be humanely trapped and relocated. I only say this because it sounds like the coyotes are getting more and more bold around humans. I would like to see a solution found before someone gets hurt any more than what has already happened... be it a coyote or a child or another dog.

Funny you should say this since really the biggest concern for me about getting broken into would be a burglar either hurting one of my pets or leaving a door or window open allowing our dogs or cats to escape. It would suck to have lots of *stuff* stolen, but *stuff* can be replaced. So burglars, if you read this, if you break into my house, take my stuff and enjoy it, but please shut the door behind you.

This could explain why some people failed to report them... you see a woman who looks like a housewife carrying stuff out of someone's home and even if you know the people who live there, you may think "Oh, she must be a maid or something."

Report *anything* suspicious, people. That's what the cops are here for.

Cases of Rabies in WA as a whole are extremely slim. In Western WA, they're virtually nonexistent. I think a more likely scenario is that the raccoon had offspring nearby or was on alert for some reason (maybe some animal (or stupid teenagers) had been harassing it prior to the woman and her dog passing by.

Though all of that being said, getting the Rabies shots is definitely the way to go. Better safe than sorry. Rabies isn't something you can fix.
