It does not create new jobs but instead will no doubt close many small businesses. #2. Wine has a higher alcohol content than beer, thus the worry about under age drinking and probable dwi increases. #3. Small stores and small wineries will suffer at the expense of big box stores that don't "need" one more product to sell. #4. I don't think Gov. Paterson did his homework when he entered this item into the budget. There are many folks like myself who are very much against this issue for reasons mentioned. We need to look out for small business and the welfare of our young people as well as those drivers who may be affected. My husband and I own "Anchor Spirits" in Youngstown, NY and are finding nearly 100% of our customers are against this proposal in the governor's budget. The system we have works and works well. We don't need to give in to those big box stores. We can fight for keeping jobs &amp; not losing them. We must fight to keep high alcohol content wine from the underage drinkers this proposal would indeed result in. The beer consumption issue due to easy access to minors is already a problem where beer is now sold. Not everything should be about money and taxes...especially here in New York State. Already people are leaving the state because of these poor decisions made by a few behind closed doors in Albany.</p>
