As a Canadian we don't have the second amendment, but lots of people including myself don't hunt. But do shoot for sport at targets occasionally. Canadian have around 11 millions guns i think, and and less then 40 million people. But we seem to be doing ok, despite the high gun ownership.

As for being robbed, nearly anyplace at anytime can be, which is kinda the point of being armed. I don't feel the need to be walking around armed in my country, nor is it legal. But I have to say there are other parts of the world where I would want to be.

I am also not a gun nut or a conspiracy theorist, but history tells us, over and over again, don't trust your government. Germany was a democracy before Hitler as well.

Another example, Switzerland also has a huge amount of guns and not a lot of problems. Shooting is the national sport there if I remember correctly, and you could not ask for a more peaceful country. Which is probably why nobody has ever tried to invade them for a very long time, there is no reason too and would not be a good idea.

And probably why breaking into a Swiss home would be a bad idea as well. Last time i checked it was law that every man had a gun in his home. Which also probably encourages the government to stay within the colored lines so to speak.

So if Switzerland can be so peaceful, highly educated, extremely high standard of living and have probably more guns per person than America. Perhaps it is not the guns, but the poverty/ social inequality and other problems that you might want to examine that cause the problems of violence. If you have a lot of crime in your area, seems only natural that you want to defend yourself from it.

So I would say that would account for the obsessive need. My gun ownership is for sport, yes it could be deadly, but so could almost any object given intent.

I am not sure if he lied or not, but if he did he has to pay the price. At least the guy needs to learn to delegate, take a vacation and come back stable and healthy. Elon doesn't own tesla the investors do, and I think if this keeps up he will be out of a job. From my point of view it seems like he is unstable.

I like what Elon is trying to do, but their comes a time when its better for the founder to move on, or be replaced. Just because they started it doesn't mean they can continue it.

I would much rather see free education. The teach a person to fish, rather than give them the fish concept. You can never lose an education, or the effects it has on you.

Corporations are there to make money, plain and simple they pay taxes to the gov. Who's job is, everything that doesn't make money.

It seems strange people think any company at all, should be involved in urban planning, creating housing, transportation of their workers. Or a host of other things people think they should doing with shareholders money. (as others have pointed out).

Its as silly to me as saying there is a rich plumbing organization, because they are rich, needs to solve social issues. And basically when you say they need to solve all these problems your asking a shareholder to be taxed twice, which isn't really fair.

And do you really want a corporation involved in that? Once that precedent is set, then it kinda opens up pandora's box, and gives them undue influence.

Apple has done exactly what it was created for, make a ton of cash, for its investors while following the law. All other complaints need to go to your representative.

I again find it interesting that the figures of male nurses are roughly equal to the numbers of female engineers. Or that wired never investigates the other side of the equation. Is that discrimination against men, as I have mentioned in another comments section.

I have worked with and for women, just like men. Work hard, be fair and people tend to respect you for it despite your gender. A woman coordinator I worked for was great and called everyone on their crap equally.

One thing i have a problem with is when people play the race,sexuality or gender card. If someone is truly harassing you, or being sexist, or racist I am all for it, management should fire them.

Ladies give a warning, then take it to HR if that is truly happening, they will deal with it. In which case you have my sympathy and your right it shouldn't happen.

However plenty of them use their sexuality to get ahead. Or get preferential treatment, or get out of jobs they don't like. Its not like their all innocent angels who aren't sexist themselves.

How about a video where men share their experiences in the workplace? That would be fair and objective, wouldn't it?

I was an employer once and all I cared about was if you could make me money, that was it. Sadly my company didn't make it and I am back into working for someone else.

I'm lucky where I am going to work again. However, I can't even imagine how much it would suck to work for a social justice warrior who gets into management "shudders"................some people look for anything to justify their opinions, fact or not.

Well said point but i have to disagree somewhat, farmers markets are readily available, I just sat down with the banker not that long ago. And I our compassion as a race was never that extensive to begin with. Humans really don't change but technology does.

If you want to get involved with charity you easily can, and personally i think the machines are great no more waiting in lines forever for simple transactions.

I personally having worked jobs which will be replaced by machines eventually, think that is a positive as well. I believe we should institute free education as machines take manual tasks which really are are robotic in nature.

However it will be disastrous if governments around the world don't prepare for the amount of unemployed people. That is were i believe compassion is truly needed.

Well i think there is an assumption here that i am against intelligent design i am not. I actually believe in that and evolution. I don't believe them to be seperate.

I think god would be smart enough to allow plasticity of the genes to allow some animals to survive changing conditions.

Humans themselves show adaptation to the area of their ancestors. Dogs can be altered enormously by breeding a sort of forced evolution.

I also despite being christian dont believe everything in the bible either. The book is ancient and has been translated literally god knows how many times.

Genises is rather vague to how god actually created anything, just really the order. With the exception of the rib of course. Which i have a hard time believing.

As for too late for my benfit and demands, id love to know but dont think i will before my death.

As for thoughts on how order and complexity increaes i havent heard of abiogenesis untill this conversation and macro evolution although i probably know some of it and just not the terms. So will do some digging if i have the time. So i can properly repond since its not my area of expertise.

I would have to politely disagree again. electicity was supernatural and understood to be zeus's bolt at one point.

Because we didnt know how it worked some some creative priest likely made up a lovely story.

I think simply we dont have the intellect to completely understand some issues or the equipment to measure them.

For example nobody has yet built a lazurus machine, artificial life or etc. Does that mean its not possible? Who knows, i dont and probably nobody will for quite some time.

And since I believe in god, i am not necessarily againt the intelligent design theory. What if evolution was part of how god brought life to be?

But really nobody to my knowledge has proven it. So we can't expect people to believe it.

My point really is only that we should keep and open mind and not automatically be biased in our thinking, due to religious or atheist beliefs.

Yes, some do remain theories with enough evidence to continue searching for answers, while the equipment being invented and built to test them continues.

Its interesting that you say you dont like baseless made up stories that are unprovable and yet what is more than that than god?

And which god? God of israel only became popular because Rome adopted it.Egypts gods have a far older written records than the bible does and were written by certifiable people.

For the record I believe in god, as many scientists do. Such as isaac newtom and Einstein. Who spent their careers doing a whole lot of theoritical work.

Science is agnostic, there is no conflict, prove the existence of god and it will be accepted.

Theory, experiment and show your answer.

The truth always wins out in the long run and its a slow virtous circle. Nobody gets it right the first time, and these are big questions which have gone on for generations.

Just harnessing electricity took forever and countless tries, the method clearly works its just messy while we get to the answer.

Interesting that its all about race, she ended up a zombie rotting, losing everything and ending up in basically a version of hell.

And pretty much everyone hates her in her life, and she deserves it. I see her as a cautionary tale, not some example of white privilege.

Shadow is far from innocent in this show as well right from the beginning a thief, con man, and went to jail for agreeing to rob a bank. After trying to rob a casino which she stopped him from getting caught. Which he returned the favor later on.

But they both deserved it, rather than saying another black man in jail, how about another thief in jail, simple as that.

In addition a lot of the gods are evil on this show, which i would include the both Odin and the lovely murderous love goddess. Both of which have killed how many people?

Its a great show with amazing characters which great dignity is given to characters like Anubis and Jesus.

How about we leave race out of it for once?

They built a beautiful, sustainable and power producing building with their own money, adding worth to the city as a world class work site. From the sounds of it, I say there really isn't any reason to complain.

They city gets the tax, the business a place to work, sounds fair to me.

Hey long time ago about this post, just got around to it.

I do understand your points quite well, and simply disagree with one. I would be uncomfortable with this language with any race, and the way it is phrased.

Its also interesting also that if you look through the comments a lot of people are white fully support the changes made to the show. Just not the language used, I think the comment falls under "because they are white, its all right".

I don't think i have had the benefit of any white male dominance, nor do i support it. As for harsh and demeaning language. It certainly can and does find equal opportunity to be used by pretty much everyone. There is no excuse for it in any context, past, present or future no matter how common it used to be. I am not responsible for another mans sins, only mine.

I hope the pervasive racism ends at some point, you think it would have by now and there is a long way to go unfortunately. Fundamentally we have the same values thanks for being level headed in your conversation with me, and glad we had the chance to chat.

The real challenge comes when you try and convince every owner operator and trucking company to switch over to unproven far more expensive trucks that don't have the range or infrastructure.

By which I mean not just battery swaps, but mechanics, dealers, spare parts. And the gov also highly regulates trucking, so the new systems have to be tested and approved. Business wise, you have to get a much higher loan, with bigger down payment, carrying more interest.

Pretty much never gonna happen anytime soon, diesel just has too many advantages right now despite its cost. Electric trucks in ports, or city runs seems a lot more practical, as others have mentioned.

Now hybrid trucks with a small battery for idling and the ability to shut off pistons, makes far more sense to me. And should be possible right now.

I say expand the use of trains, for long distance, and use the trucks to delver locally.

Well i dont see it becoming a high end thing, more like lowering the costs of transportation overall.

1. I currently can't rent out my car when not using it, i could do that with my self driving car probably though a third party. Say while i am at work

2. Public transport cost is likely to decline as more people do this. Mabe even disapear as it is a big gov cost.

3. Owning a car may be desirable but definitely not necessary. Public transportation sucks here so i have always had a car.

3. Weathier people wont as they dont need to. But your right may join an excusive club. Or drivers are seen as exclusive and act as more of a personal assistant.

4. Electric cars become far more viable as they have developed self charging plug in ports. Cars drive up get charged and go off and make money. Maybe get cleaned at the same time.

5.dont have to accept the ride just take a snapshot and send it to the
company or owner.

I think basically we agree, but if the costs are less than owning i think many people won't. Especially in cities, cant see that in rural areas though.

Where is see it being revolutionary is for disabled and lowering impaired driving and not having to wait for a cab and the high prices that come with that.

cartels hire chemists to disguise their drugs. Use a lot of technology including drones and even use subs.

Smuggling over the border i can see using this maybe but would bring alot of attention just dropping drugs everywhere, and someone still has to pick it up.

Imagine what this could do for desperately needed medical supplies or even just supplies. Alot of places arent runway accessible for takeoff but have enough room for this to land.

Personally i think this will be interesting to see develop.
