In this age of identity theft and computer hacking it's imperative that security measures are stringent. Web site passwords, bank account details falling into the wrong hands can wreak havoc. It's also worthwhile installing tracking software like Lojack on your notebook if it is a machine holding confidential company data. That way the laptop can be traced and if not sometimes the data can be erased remotely to stop it falling into the wrong hands.

Re: Report: News-oriented websites have a future

In the 20-35 age demographic, newspapers are mostly going the way of the dodo. Why wait until the morning to read the latest news when sites like the Drudge Report are updated hourly. I've noticed newspapers in the uk integrating cms systems into their web sites to allow visitors to interact and post their own opinions. This is the way forward.

Re: Getting Started Video (In HD!)

Video was easy to understand, however I have a question. Once you secure your family page can you make it password protected? I'm sure many users would like to keep their family photos/videos private and only viewable by family members.

Re: Starting with WordPress

Wordpress is an excellent CMS, but you need to utilize some of the plugins available like Google XML Sitemaps, and WP "Follow Me" to really get the most from it. I like the clean, minimalistic design of your Wordpress installation

Re: HP adds two more netbooks – Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje and Mini 311

i love the Ion powered netbooks coming onto the market like HP's 311. With this technology users can actually play games on netbooks not just surf the web.

Re: Apple Netbook

I think Steve Jobs has gone on the record saying that he can't imagine Apple being able to release a quality netbook below $500. Brands like Asus, Acer, Dell and Toshiba have released netbooks for under $300 with 160GB hard drives and Atom processors. Despite a quality product I don't see Apple competing in the netbook sector solely due to price competition. Maybe I'll be proved wrong in 2010 :)

Re: Instructions for updating the Acer Aspire One BIOS

Thanks for this detailed guide. I'm hearing that many have had issues with the bios settings on the Acer Aspire one. a shame Acer coulldn't have got a handle on this before releasing the netbook.
