Great find in the Planning Department docs! Strange things are afoot. They've closed the sidewalks and have set up air conditioning units along the sides of the building. Whatever happens in there, it's going to be cold!

I've been a fan of Evan Dorkin since high school 18 years ago when my algebra teacher confiscated my Milk and Cheese comics and I had to break into her closet after hours to steal them back and then got caught by the vice principal (Why did he work late that day? Very shady) and got detention for a week. But I got to keep my comics.

Evan Dorkin's comics are worth a week in detention is what I'm saying.

Great post, Nick. Thanks for sharing your numbers! These are some interesting findings. I wonder if this means readers are growing wary of the cheaper price points and equate slightly higher cost with much higher value. I've only dipped my toes into this, but I'll be publishing my second book later this year and look forward to playing around with the numbers.

So much of our news coverage is dedicated to the election, so as an extension of ignoring politics, I've ended up avoiding most news sites in general. I was afraid that I would be burying my head in the sand and missing big, important news.

But I haven't missed anything. I heard all about the tragic shooting in Aurora, more Olympic news than I could possibly handle, and learned that same-sex marriage legality in Maryland will be up for a vote in November. If a story is big enough, it spills over from the news cycle and into other areas of life. It'll end up on Reddit, or someone will bring it up in conversation, or enough people will share it on Twitter for me to notice.

I've found that if I shut off all my news sources, the whole world acts as a filter for the important news stories and keeps the noise at a distance. It's awesome.
