1. I'm totally stoked for this.
2. Why are /film readers all so pessimistic?
3. Joel did an AMA on Reddit today where he basically explained every single thing you all mused about here (the literal expenses, the future of the show, the possibility of a network or streaming platform picking it up, etc). It's a very good read.
4. Those of you who mentioned it, couldn't be more wrong about the public domain thing. On that note, the big difference between MST3K and Cinematic Titanic/Rifftrax is that MST3K will be filmed, and the others were only done for live shows/audio commentary download. So, Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic still had to get the rights to do live shows, but other than that they're free to do what they please with their commentary (i.e. Sell their riffs via their website as an audio download for you to listen to while you watch whichever movie they're riffing under your own accord). So, the difference in licensing costs is literally a world of difference... And trust me, just bc its a crappy movie doesn't mean the license is cheap.

Ha. You got me. Man, this is so embarrasing for me. Please, do tell me, what's the outside world like?? Is it full of pleasant people like you?

So sorry for trying to bring positivity to the comments for a franchise I care about. I literally never comment on articles, but I couldn't stand watching people shit on the the people making this unreleased film anymore.

I'll be sure to go grab a hammer and chisel so I can start making a chip on my own shoulder like everyone else on here seems to have.

I'm completely fine with people disliking it. My problem is that on every single post that has been made about this film since it was announced, the comments have been overun by guys blindingly angry at Feig just for being the director or that it was starting women.

If you dislike it, that's utterly fine. I was simply speaking about the close minded percentage in these groups.

First off my friend, please don't tell me to shove anything anywhere. I was having an adult conversation with you. I in no way attacked you with any single inkling of a thought in my original response.

Now, I am sorry if I misjudged your anger towards Feig from your comment. However, it's now obvious that you are either a cosplayer or a champion for the community. That's awesome; great community, love the whole bit of it, actually! But man, you really are reading too far into the situation and the "conspiracies" that it's all a marketing move.

Seriously, please take a step back from your cosplay mindset. Go read Feig's interviews about this film. This guy CARES about this film, and this franchise. Not only that, if you pay attention to what he's saying AND doing, he cares about me and you and every other ghostbusting son of a bitch out there.

Im not even necessarily a Feig fan. I mean yeah, I've seen Bridesmades and The Heat, loved them both. But I never really looked into him until this film. But he cares, and he's making sure we see the torch get passed, instead of it just being a reboot, or a remake, or whatever you want to call it.

Glad to hear! Me too! See, I literally could not have grown up with Ghostbusters any more an entire part of me than it was. To say I love the franchise (the films, the cartoons, the toys, ALL of it) with all my stupid heart would be an understatement. So it kills me, to see diehard "fans" that are so constantly close minded. Feig's no idiot, and the stars aren't to shabby either, you know? I think they're gonna take great care of it and hopefully surprise the hell out of the shockingly narrow-minded doubters.

I'm sorry, but what are you talking about Feig "egged on" the whole cosplay thing? Fans were asking HIM for info on the specs, then he provided. Does it help the film? Heck yes it does. Is Feig an evil business mastermind with his feet up on a desk smoking a giant cartoon cigar and laughing at Ghostbusters fans? Sorry, but no. If you would take a step back, and calm down over the fact that Feig is directing and its starring women, you would realize that each of these tiny things show Feig cares a heck of a lot more than many others might have.

Man, yeah, I have no clue why you would put an overly large yellow light on something like this... Oh, wait, it's a freaking COMEDY. I love the direction of all this throwback stuff, to me it seems they're definitely going to have the "crappier" gear and all to start (which they can make fun of themselves for) and then shed that for up to date gear later in the film.

Seriously, fellow Ghostbusters fans, why all the constant putrid un-relenting hate towards this film?

Yeah, the thing is, I agree about the Greyson kid, he is talented...
My point of the blog isn't about him, but about the industry and their lack of hard work in the A&R department. I know they still look for artists on their own, but I really feel like they don't look hard enough. From what I've found, you have to have a manager that can literally get you to a label's doorstep in order for them to actually give a shit... So, for people like me, without management, we're lost in the crowd, despite the fact that we have great fanbases already built in that they wouldn't even have to take a chance on.

I'm not sure if you'll see this, but in case you do, here's an email I attempted to send your way:

I recently saw the comment you left on my Tumblr about how you were upset about me not playing at the Knitting Factory on November 5th.
I'd just like to personally apologize for not being there. The tour that Jimmy Robbins and I were supposed to be doing together actually fell apart, so I had to drop off of the dates that were booked, and that's why I never officially released the dates on any of my websites. The venue websites were supposed to take down my name, but it's obvious now that they never did. But again, I'm sorry I wasn't able to play the show, but I will actually be coming back through NY again on my upcoming tours to make up for the show.
