I saw first-hand in how a pet may miss the living person; but once dead, they do not recognize the body. On the day my mother died of a massive coronary at home, she was placed on the floor by the EMTs who responded to my father's call. Sadly, and before the funeral home came to fetch her body, it remained on the floor for two hours until they arrived. I(t was January and many elders apparently died that day.) In any case, we had to let my parents' dog back into the living room after being shut in a bedroom while the emergency respondents worked to try to revive my mother. After we allowed Rusty (who was blind and deaf) back into the room, he didn't pause, sniff, or acknowledge my mother's body. He simply stepped over the body. He didn't recognize her for who she was or that it was anything that was once alive. To Rusty, the body was an obstacle to him as he wandered the room searching for my parents. It was a macabre, but strange example that the dog recognizes living beings, but not the dead. Later, my father and Rusty came to live with us. By then, my father was bedridden. I used to place Rusty in my father's hospital bed so they could visit one another. Now in those times I saw the love between a dog and their human. Ironically, today is my mother's birthday. She died a month to the day after she turned 88 years old in 2013.

I for one am glad they will ban porn. There is a lot of hardcore unsimulated sex, usually gay porn, and borderline child porn (teens). Because i go by a short user name that is androgynous, it seems to "invite" all such accounts for years. Or, the porn accounts are purchasing links of random users to follow automatically. Currently, if i get notice of a “follower,” there is a 95% chance that it is a hardcore porn account.

In my city, seen as having better tolerance than most, we have begun seeing an uptick in overt racial intolerance and even full blown scared reactions seeing an African American out and about doing “normal things” like shopping. Recently, a friend saw a mother giving her the stink eye and clutching her children to her while my friend simply stood in line. A presumably educated white woman imprinting on her young children that they must fear a middle-aged African American black woman who simply wanted a nosh. #thankstrump.

That's cool. I know that cornstarch packing peanuts are widely used now.
Recently, I tried dropping of a working DVD/portable TV (10" diameter) at a Savers and they almost didn't take it because of the tube. They took it anyway I think because of its size. Back in the day, I worked for a large natural gas transmission company in their Asset Recovery program. We found that tubed monitors, TVs, etc. were extremely difficult to recycle due to the gas in the monitors. There had to be a method in which to capture the gas as it was being broken down.

My questions: I heard about cornstarch-based grocery bags. Is this a thing and are they being phased into use? Is bamboo a viable alternative to plastics?

Here in El Paso, Texas, we now have a pilot program for collecting and recycling glass, both clear and colored--a great advance here--but, the glass must be taken to solid waste recycling centers. Target stores here have several bins for collecting recycle materials, and include one for glass. Best Buy has collection bins for outdated cell phones, etc.

Why don't they interview people that see the good in this project? Probably started off with leading questions to provoke the elder into making himself a fool—as one who doesn't see the good in this project. They don't want to report that there are children nearby—Polk and a Montessori school.

Exactly. Bravo for your grandfather. Wine and spirits can help. Binge drinking is misplaced here as she drinks over several hours and with meals. Bingers just drink as much as fast as possible.

They prompt discussion and move the audience to reply. Slam lists all you want, but many will learn and relisten to those artists presented in this and others. Same when a death occurs, sad to say. The day Dave Brubeck passed away, I filled my first year writing and research course with his music as my students worked on their projects.

I don't see it. Look at the top ten. Remember their list begins with 1964. They were going to stop with 2010, but realized too many groundbreaking singers would have been left off.

The above mentioned women fall outside when the list starts. It was said in the interview that they looked a period beginning in 1964 with the Beatles and the British Invasion. I grok the methodology because before that time, pop music was directed at adults (like Fitzgerald, Horne, et al., who did not write their songs and first worked with Big Bands.) Garland is also outside the timeline and is more a histrionic performer rather than nuanced singer, IMO.
