All it needs is a product called iMaxi to have an iMaxiPad product, which I can't believe if what they ever intended to be possible. And I'm not the first to see this by far. But personally I'm going to buy the iPad G3 version, which I hope they will make available at the same time as the WiFi only version. Of course I would like to be able to use Skype or what-have-you to make phone calls with the iPad out of WiFi range, but if they don't, someone else will come up with it for sure.

Re: In Wake Of Climategate Met Office To Re-Examine Climate Data, Government Trying To Stop Them

Thanks for saying what so many of us fail to say. I totally agree with you -- it is so obvious. Some people just can't see the nose on their own face.

Re: Amazon Kindle now back in stock

I've had my Kindle since Dec. 4th, having ordered on announcement day but after the 5.5 hour first day sell out. It is today my favorate "toy", and I have over 600 books on it stored in my 8 GB memory card. I no longer buy paper books, and am wondered how I can sell almost all of my extensive library of books -- with only a few very favorate books with lots of illustrations left for the future.

The Kindle is much more than it appears, and until you own one and use it regularly as do I, you will never understand that. I take mine literally everywhere I good, hoping for a few minutes to continue reading, since otherwise time is very tight for me -- and probably for all readers everywhere. I never turn it off, including the wireless feature, and just recharge every night like I do for my cell phone.

Many of my books are "free" out-of-copyright books offered free from ebook sales sites as an inducement to shop for paid books along with the free ones. One feature I really like from the Kindle Store is a "free Sample" which gives me a chance to sample the first few chapters to find out if I want to buy it. Much better than trying to do this standing in the asle at a bookstore. When I finish one of these, I very often buy it, but others I just delete as of no real interest. No other ebook vendor does this as best I have seen so far.

I don't consider the $399 price for the Kindle to be high -- it has saved me much more than that in the lower price I pay for ebooks compared to paper books. I have also sent many .PDF books on my hard drives to it, which I hate to take anywhere with me, since I would need to bring too many, and of course too heavy for any real use outside of my home.
