This was great. I think it's totally understandable to not want to be Rachel since she is so spoiled and new to life at the beginning of the series, but I also feel like she had the most growth out of all of the characters. She started out as a mess, like we all do, but eventually got her life together, found a career she was passionate about, started a family.. her journey is nothing to sneeze at. And she did it all with relentless optimism, a smile, and great hair. :)

I was recently turned onto Shine Theory by the brilliant Call Your Girlfriend podcast, which is hosted by Ann and her BFF Aminatou Sow, and I am obsessed. Even though I have been practicing this philosophy for many years, I'm glad it has a name and such a simple concept.

My best friend and I were competing for a promotion once many years ago, and even though we both wanted the job, we still supported each other and helped each other to look good in front of our bosses. She ended up getting the job and I got my own separate promotion in a different department not long after so it worked out just fine in the end. We live and breathe Shine Theory every day!

We're always talking about how we would love to create a job in our company where we just help women lean in and put their best foot forward to reach their career goals.

Even in boss relationships, I make it well known to my managers that I am working to make them look good, and thus I look good as well.

It's just a basic law of the universe. Be good to others and they will be good to you. I don't shine if you don't shine. :)

On Monday he amitted to police he had staged the cross burning, and was charged with, "domestic violence stalking and exhibits that intimidate." He was released with out bale.

It was ridiculous. I had two melons -- this small one pictured above, and then a really huge one which I worked on later.

The small one was an absolute failure. Didn't soak up ANY alcohol. AT ALL. I used Tequila, which I'm not sure if that made a difference.

For the larger melon, I used a similar method, except instead of inserting the bottle into the watermelon, I just made a hole and poured it inside every so often. This method came out a LOT better and it actually soaked up a lot of the liquor. For this one, I used Melon-flavored Malibu Rum. I soaked it for about a day, which definitely wasn't long enough, as it was visible which parts of the watermelon had been saturated and which hadn't when we opened it up. Next time, I'll probably soak it for about 3 days to make sure it is even. Either way, though, the melon was delicious and even the most heavily saturated parts didn't get mushy or taste too strong.

It would probably be fairly more useful if instead of scrolling through the photos in an album, it scrolled through the photos from all the different users on my news feed. I'd like to use this feature to view all the photos consecutively instead of constantly having to close the lightbox and then go down to the next person and re-open it, etc.

Well, I've had Big for like 2 months, but I only use it every so often. I switch it up between Squeaky Clean solid shampoo (which I liked a LOT more when I had longer hair), and a regular shampoo I can't remember the name of. I tend to over-shampoo, though. I like a lot of lather. And with all the salt in Big, I tend to use more than I should because I feel like its hard to penetrate my hair initially and most of it ends up on the tub floor :C

Also, I love Big, but I HATE THE CONSISTENCY OF IT LIKE RIGHT BEFORE IT GETS REALLY LATHERY. You know what I'm talkin' bout? IT LOOKS OBSCENE.

Totally agree with the previous comment. I lived through this nonsense for most of 2008 AND 2009, and it was positively heinous, especially the bit about being pumped full of 4 years of I Can Do Anythings before falling flat on my ass once out in the real world.

Hospitality has absolutely shunned me (AND my useless degree), but luckily another company has welcomed me with open arms, finally, and somehow it's working out. It'll work out for you too.

My hatred for Children of Men is slightly irrational, admittedly, but I
still hate that movie. I don't usually mind violent movies but I found that
one waaaay waaaaaaay waaaaaaaaaay too violent for my tastes, and it didn't
make up for the violence by being an interesting movie otherwise, in my
opinion.

Also, YES I HATED THIRTEEN AND I HATE THAT GIRL IN THIRTEEN. But I only saw
it once absolute ages ago so I couldn't tell you much about it or the hammy
acting, other than while I dislike Nikki Reed usually, I liked her very much
on The OC.
