If you quizzed them on the specifics of their beliefs they'd probably fail your test.

Re: http://www.oneprayer.com/blog/post/39392515

I do love my church, Community of Joy in Salisbury MD. I love that a very young child announced that he would try to limit his use of his Gameboy. I love that the kids showed such enthusiasm when they went to their own gathering. I love that people talked about mission and transformation after the service when they could have been talking about sports or the weather. I love our diversity (and pray we grow to have more).
I was moved during the "wake up" sermon to set my alarm clock to 5:14 (as in Ephesians). I'm on vacation and have been sleeping too late. I've also been watching too many movies on DVD, so I'm reserving a day for that luxury and leaving DVD's alone except for then.
One of the people I've been praying for seemed a lot more open to thinking about Christianity, and an opportunity to reach another in friendship seems to have opened up.

Re: Daily Devotional by Mark Batterson - Blog - One Prayer

I woke up this morning burdened with resentments and I knew that these resentments would defeat me unless I did something about it. God answered my prayers before I spoke them because I came here to check out the daily devotional and here are the words I needed to hear!
I lift up relatives who act in spiteful ways, I lift up spiteful coworkers, I lift up myself so that I can let them go and take pleasure in Your ways alone. I lift my hands in thanks.

Re: Daily Devotional by Steven Furtick - Blog - One Prayer

I need to mention that I'm with the Community of Joy church in Salisbury, MD.

Re: Daily Devotional by Steven Furtick - Blog - One Prayer

Today, Tuesday, I am in prayer and fasting for my local church's diversity. I pray that our attendance will double and that our racial, economic, and cultural diversity will increase. I pray that we will challenge and excite each other with new insights and understandings. And let this excitement be a testimony to the God who makes this miracle possible.

Re: What is Your One Prayer? - Blog - One Prayer

Before I accepted Christ as my savior, teacher, Lord, and friend, I was sort of a fuzzy new-age pantheist. And before that I was a Baha'i. As I Baha'i, I felt I had the key to world unity and peace. All we needed was for everyone to become Baha'i! I have come to believe that not everyone will agree on a religion. God draws each believer in the way that is right and timely for her. And some will never be believers at all.
Still, my prayer for the Church is unity. Not that we all think the same way. I can see by the one prayer responses so far that we have very different slants. But let's accept the diversity in the Christian body and remember that Christ is the head.

Re: One Prayer Tuesday Fasting Focus: Salvations - Blog - One Prayer

family: Gareth
friend: Anne
neighbor: Lena
