Several things caught my eye and I have a view words on the following.

Also, it's only reasonable to believe if OBL were not dead, him or his allies would post a video of him doing the electric slide to discredit all his detractors. I mean, please, who's on first?

And check this, I just read another brilliant perspective on those who are trying to "spin" Obama's hand.

Picture a gruesome photo of the corpse Emmett Till and that of slaves hanging from trees with their genitals hanging from their mouths.

Show the picture Mr. President! A-merry-cans, as you can see, can take it. That's a pic of Emmett Till in the left hand corner of this post. His picture was featured in a prominent A-merry-can magazine soon after he was killed, and the republic survived. A-merry-cans have strong stomachs when it comes to this stuff. Just look at all those people having j a jolly good time while they watched those "strange fruits" hanging from trees. Don't tell me they can't look at a pic of OBL with a hole in his head. Besides, do you really want to give wingnuts another reason to cry conspiracy?

Wingnuts and radical Islamist now have something in common: they both believe that O and his people are hiding something. Why did they bury Osama at sea? Why so fast? Why don't they just show the pictures? Are they doctoring them?

Over at Radio Rwanda it's all they talk about; those OBL photos. Wingnuts are giving us their opinions about why the photos should be released. Make no mistake, the reason that some people want these photos released is because a certain beige man said that he will not do it right now. "We don't need to spike the football". Great!

Well then when can we celebrate Mr. President? I know that your CIA director said that they would be released eventually, but that might be too far down the line. You know that A-merry-cans have short attention spans. We might forget who the damn guy is by the time the photos are released.

I thought that was another subtle but brilliant message that spoke directly to what many (and we know who) are to cowardly to say.

Imo, the core of his message was not about should he or shouldn't he. When he opened with the photo of Emmitt Till, and alluded to the thousands of carcasses of the murdered in Rwanda, I agreed with what he was saying. I mean, I heard, "some folks bleed red "white" and blue, at the sight of the "murdered victims" of POC.

Oh no, not common in anything. Wait wait wait, I made my move too soon. I did like his performance in the movie... dang, I can't remember, ah, the one with alica Keys and Taraji Henson??? But something wasn't right in "Just Right". However, he is scheduled to be the lead in a Civil War-ish movie. Well, he tries to make a new life (as an ex-slave) with his family in the far west. Oh my, Indians and white folks stand in his way. But he was in American Gangster, however I can't even remember his part.

But Michael Elay? Well, I hope he's not reading this, but I've never enjoyed his acting. He always looks like he's acting. Did you see him in Spike's Miracle at St. Anna or Takers? I"m searching my mind for a Marvin Gaye but I just can't find one. Yeah, they should be able to sing but they don't have to dance. Marvin could sing his ass off, but if he had to move too far from the mic, he'd show all his left feet. I mean, Marvin is my all time guy, but dancing was not his thang. But check this, the movie that's out in front (closest to being made) is focusing on his last years. I don't like that. Not another story of a strong black man (an Icon) that heard the call of the wild. then again, like you said, Marvin was a sensitive kind of guy... Uuuuuum, a singer that's sensitive? I got it... The name of the album was "Here My Dear". I don't know about you, but I believe that's Oscar talk. :-) Look out Tina Turner , you ain't the only one that has a story about love jones gone cold.

Okay, here we go... Tyler Perry as Alex Cross is like Erkle playing Mike Tyson. Come on, Madea may have a pistol but something just ain't right. But don't hate me... because I did watch Madea's Big Happy Family ( pssst, bookleg), and I laughed my ass off at that closing scene. If you haven't seen it(or never will) I have to set this up (but will not tell it all). See, some may know this but for those that don't know, Madea and Mr Brown have a child together... yeah, close you eyes and picture them two in the bed together (that's nasty) but anyway, they go on The Maury Povich Show to see who's really the babies daddy. Listen, I am by no means a big Tyler Perry fan, but that mess cracked me up.

Have you ever read the book "Standing At The Scratchline, by Guy Johnson? He's Maya Angelou's son. Let me tell you something, the main character in the book, King Tremain, is the baddest black man in fiction history (imo). Read the book and come back and holla. It's an excellently written epic journey that starts in the swamps of Louisiana, through Nazi Germany, then on to the the big apple. I'll tell you what, I'll put this book in front of any one of Walter Moseleys. Yep, I said it. You can book it!

As a huge movie fan, I'd say that you've put a bit oof thaought in this. Looking at many of you picks, I would have to say YES YES YES.

I don't know if you've heard of the blog Shadow and Act: Cinema of the African Diaspora, but something like this ran on their site ( a few months ago). Anyway, I'm looking at your picks, which I think are excellent, and I've come to the conclusion that you sho now how to do the thangs you do.

And check this, one of you picks Anthony Anderson, was mentioned for the role of Marcus Garvey... your thoughts. But in the case of Travis Smiley, the producers could save a lot of money by simply using an animated talking butt hole. And use Russell Simmons as the lawn jockey.

Now, since you appear to be a serious movie/film fan, I have to ask your thoughts on Tyler Perry's new role as Alex Cross? And, you know there's talks about biopics on the godfather of soul James Brown, and Marvin Gaye. Let's hear it... who's your pick to play the leads.

IT'S OSAMA BIN LADEN OUT IN FRONT BY A HALF LENGTH, GEORGE BUSH, DONALD TRUMP AND BARRACK OBAMA IS CLOSING FROM THE FAR OUTSIDE.

OH NO! WHAT JUST HAPPENED!? UT OH, let's hurry back to the big event.

We'll pick up the action on the back stretch: Osama Bin Laden is out in front. OH NO, the oldest horse, George Bush, pulls up lame. The rest of the field continue down the back stretch. It's anybodies race and what a race it is! The crowd noise has reached a feverish pitch, no one is sitting down. Ladies and gentlemen, who would have thought it?

Bin Laden, wearing the colors of Afghanistan's flag, three stripes of black, red, and green, although a dark horse, was the odds on favorite. George Bush, having performed well in seasons past, was allowed in the race on a special exemption pass. And Donald Trump is the new kid on the block.

HERE THEY COME DOWN THE STRETCH!

It's Bin Laden by a nose, Donald Trump's running second and the 100-1 long shot, Barack Obama, trails the field. What a race!

What a fight, what a slug fest... this has to be one of the most monumental moments in USA's political history? Wow, a questioned black man, a filthy rich white guy, and a ghost, it does not get any better than this.

Donald Trump takes a small lead, but now, without someone breaking his wind, he's beginning to huff and puff like a big bad wolf, instead of a strong and confident thoroughbred. He has been exposed. They're heading for the finish line. Barack Obama, riding the horse Official Birth Certificate, pulls up beside the once pompous, blustery and cocksure Donald Trump and gives him a sly wink as he pulls ahead to win in a photo finish.

Damn, and what a finish it was. Who would have thought it? What a weekend to remember!?

Although our President is too classy a guy to say it, I will. And Ali said it, what about a time called now... "HE IS THE GREATEST!"

The slightly built black man with the hip walk and smooth talk, who some said his campaign posturing of avoiding race and making Black issues marginal was a set back for black folks, closed the mouths of many that had lost a little faith in his leadership. Some said he lacked cahonnas and was afraid of speaking out against Donald Trump. But little did they know - he who laughs last - laughs best. Like a good general, he had a plan and didn't tell anyone until it was just the right time. Even the wise old owl Donald Trump didn't see what was coming. However, he should have asked who was coming to dinner, because as it turned out, he was the main course meal.

At the White House Correspondents Dinner, President Obama blistered Donald Trump with grace and dignity, while he kicked him in his air hole. Donald couldn't do a damn thing but sit there and look stupid. I sort of felt sorry for the guy because all the fancy dressed dignitaries, some of which were sitting right next to him, were laughing with wild unabashed freedom as they looked straight in the Donald Duck's face. It was brutal and funny as hell! I felt as if I was witnessing Richard Pryor when he ask Miss Rudolph to tell the monkey to take his dick out of his ear, and we all know what she said, "No Richard, The monkey lives here".

But wait, President Obama wasn't done. On Sunday, May 1st, 2011, he pulled out his big coup de gras. He told the world that Osama bin Laden had been captured and he was dead.

What a wonderful weekend, oh what a wonderful day. What about a time called now? I wonder what all the naysayers and backstabbers are saying now? I know what some of the winners are saying, "lookout cruel world, but don't look now, we're full steam ahead to 2013. You don't need no ticket, just get on board!"

You know what, I've never been the one not to give props when props are due, even when I disagree with the "subject" or person. So Mr. Plant, the more I read your comments, I've come to the conclusion you're good a what you do. You have great sentence structure and are generally concise in your replies, even though (imo) some of them are designed as "evasive moves".

So, in short, I probably shouldn't lump you in the same barrel with Dthomas. I mean, to some degree, imo, you're agenda seems to be slightly different than his, so I am going to pause on calling you out when he raises his hand.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't agree with much of what you say (of what I've read) but if I had some of your skills, I'd throw mine away.

Well, you're good at what you do, but (I've said this before) I don't understand blacks that find it important - or cannot define - why they have a need to berate our president. As I've said, miss me with "it's making him accountable", that's simply untrue, and frequently used to feign innocence. I have a deep disdain for those who attach all of America's problems, current and past, to the president. Much of which, any informed person should know, is out of his control. Again, miss me with "since he's the president, it's ALL on him.

See, I'm done with Plant. That's all we've been saying all along. But nooooooo, he wants to flip it to make it appear as if the president did something wrong. And, in his haste to paste the president as step n fetch it, we somehow got on the word "punk". Okay, I used the term as someone that's weak or shows signs of foolish behavior. Remember when Charles Barkley called the new miami heat's (Lebron and the boys) stage introduction a "punk move", that's were I'm coming from, but for the life of me, I don't know how or why Plant brought that into the discussion. Let me again state my position. I do not believe our president is a weak man. Regardless of how some wish to classify his decision, I believe it was the right move.

Like I said, I'm done with plant and those of his ilk. He showed his hand, I know his agenda, and I've never liked that kind of party. I may have said this before but I think it's worth repeating (to clearly state my position).
See, I can't understand what some black folks are getting from whipping Obama? I mean, what's their real goal? Can they not see the forest because of the trees? I mean, because a few small winds topple a few weak branches, are they saying get rid of Obama? I wonder who they would replace him with? I don't know, but I wish they would stop hiding in the closet and say what's really going on.

Melissa, I had to come back and tell you that I appreciate the fact that you caught the subtle messages in my piece and had the courage to come back and speak on them. For a white person, this can be a very intimating place, but your voice has not been one of the overly apologetic caucasin who may believe that we are somehow thrilled by their show of compassion and support. Not! I believe I can safely say (for many) that's a red flag.

Consequently, I have to give you big props for (for the most part) voicing your view and addressing the issue from the position/perspective of a person of concern, and not that of a white person showing us how much you love us and understand us.

Yep, you've been holding your own. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think I'd go with you to a honky tonk bar and get in a fight. Oh no, I'd think twice before I did that. You might decide that I am a black man and your name is Bennet and you ain't in it. :-)

We are 3 black people whose friends got tired of hearing our daily rants, and reading our many (and often forwarded) emails. Collectively, we read too much, have opinions on everything, and have too many degrees--and the debt to prove it. We are respectable negroes who are just a little angry (and you know what happens when we get angry). It may appear that we are the same, but as you will see, we are quite different. We often agree, and we often don't. We be respectable negroes who will remain anonymous for now, but there will be clues, tasty morsels of information, that friends (and perhaps enemies) can use to find out our gov't names.

Wowzer, where do I begin? Well, first, it seems as if Plant and/or Thomas are a little confused. Really, I am not trying to be facetious or mean, but to say the root word of "punk" (as I used it) is synonymous with sissy or faggot, blew me away. But let's go back to the real issue. Okay, although I do not agree with your word usage of "conceded to white priviledge" I will say our president did what he felt necessary to halt a rolling stone. Now, flip the script, lets put this on a balance beam... he shows his birth certificate on one side, and on the other, well, he doesn't. Okay, let's consider the payoffs. What would he gain and what would he had lost if he did not produce the certificate? But hold up, let me frame this a little more. I am sure he would have received fist pumps and high five from the men don't cry crowd. Oh yeah, "You showed them brother. My man my man". But what else? I see a paper thin moral victory, nothing else. And that steam rolling negative hype machine would still be rolling along. Now excuse me while I sing a little negro spiritual to illustrate my point. Do read Melissa's reply to my comment, she found something that you two clowns seem to have missed. However, your replies have made my point... "Some folks will never seek first to understand and will never admit guilt, and will continue to view our president from a very narrow perspective that fits their own agenda."

Look, keep it up and I'll write a post featuring Jim Henson's two muppets from the balcony, Statier and Waldorf. And guess who would fill the shoes (the starring role) of those dastardly dudes? Hint: Two Heckles & Heckles from the opera box of Jack & Jill politics.

Excuse me thomas, we need to acknowledge that Obama conceded to the demands of white racists? Well, first I have to ask you how you're using the word "concede". What, : to accept as true, valid, or accurate? What : to acknowledge that it might be a good idea? What: to relinquish grudgingly or hesitantly?

Whatever, but let me state my position ONE MORE TIME!

I was asked to do a guest post at a very popular blog site. Well, the post was in reference to a long comment I posted here. His words "Carey. Crystallize that for a guest post. I will run it"

Okay, I don't quite now what "crystallize" means, but the following is my view (one mo gin) that you've somehow twisted to fit your take on the Obama certificate thang.

Title: The Birth Of A Nation - Certificate.

Gosh, I wish it was all so simple. Wouldn’t it be nice if the recent fiasco concerning President Obama’s birth certificate was merely a movie? You know, like D.W. Griffith’s The Birth of a Nation, wouldn’t it be nice if we could sit back, pop and popcorn in hand, and enjoy our new Birth of A Certificate for it’s technical innovations?

On second thought, maybe I should be careful what I ask for. Don’t quote me, but I believe a couple of the main characters in the original Birth of a Nation were abolitionist Congressman Austin Stoneman and his mulatto protégé, Silas Lynch, who somehow is elected Lieutenant Governor. See, the more I think about it, the movie The Birth of a Nation and The Birth of a Certificate have eerie similarities. Let’s see, a mulatto (excuse my French) an elected official and a “Lynch”, yicks, the Birth of a Certificate - Nation - 2011. Oh lord, but they’re JUST movies, right?

Well, movies or not, I smell propaganda, but I don’t know who to believe? I mean, some folks are saying President Obama caved in under the pressure of Donald Trump. Other have said Mr. Trump is such a double-speaking slime bag. Yet, some folks are saying Obama's campaign posturing of avoiding race and making Black issues marginal is a backturn turn in our navigation of this life in America as Black Folks and some are saying what the POTUS did a few days ago was brilliant.

Well well well, so many views spoken in so many ways. However, since I am an average black man from the flatlands of Iowa, I tend to view things in a different light. See, I am not a self proclaimed political analyst, nor a quasi-intellectual, so I have to tell it like I see it, in the best way I know how.

Listen, I come from a family of storytellers who always enriched their “messages” and stories by opening with little tidbits of information. So, in true family tradition I offer the following to voice my opinion on the Birth of a Certificate.

The night was glare, the moon was yellow, and the leaves came tumbling down. Quantum banter relinquished it's liberally greased floors to silence. Like the toes of the Wicked Witch of The East, retentively coiled upon losing their ruby red glass slippers, I am suggesting the appendages of the black blogsphere should relax it's pointed index fingers to a slightly paused position.

To make a point, I opened with a line from the song Stagalee . Well, let me hit you with a few more lines...

"I was standin' on the corner when I heard my bulldog bark; he was barkin' at the two mens who gamblin' in the dark. It was Stagolee and Billy, Two men who gamble' late, Stagolee throw seven, Billy swore that he throwed eight. Okay, now I’m thinking about some white folks and Democrats vs. Republicans. Therein lies the core of my discontent with people like Donald Trump and those of his ilk. Look, some folks have no shame and are constitutionally incapable of telling the truth. So no matter what we say, real change will never come from their mouth. My daughter has a couple of sayings that addresses that point... “ don’t make a liar lie” (don't ask a liar a question, because they are going to do what they always do... tell you a lie) and “That’s yo lie, you tell it, I’m not cosigning that bullsh*t”

Both Stagolee and Billy knew who was wrong, but somebody didn’t budge.

And you know what, Langston Hughes spoke on The Ways of White Folks. I loved the brilliance of Langston Hughes. His artful way of showing people their evil ways - without yelling at them, or calling them enigmatic names - was a stroke of genius.

Hughes's stories were messages from that other America, sharply etched vignettes of its daily life, cruelly accurate portrayals of black people colliding -- sometimes humorously, more often tragically -- with whites".

So now I’m thinking about President Obama and this latest birth certificate fiasco. But wait, if you’re of the mindset that those who use “bad words” and/or vulgar language, only do so because they possess a limited vocabulary, I say miss me with that BULLSH*T, okay. And, if you’re offended by such language.... as Dr. Seuss said,

Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now, cuz I am about to let it all hang out!

Listen, I’ve said this many times, telling some white folks what they’ve done wrong and shame shame shame on them, does little or nothing to persuade them to stop their evil ways. So, since Obama is a black man, and every black person knows how to say “motherfu*ker”... real good, I know he would like to say exactly what’s on his mind. Seriously, although he is the president, if you show me a black person that can’t cus (when they have to) or at the very least say the word “motherfu*ker” with gusto and passion, I’ll show you an Oreo or a black man that lived in a cave on the south side of the moon. So, although all that political “correctness” and purple prose we and the president find ourselves engaged in - is the championed voice, I can’t help but believe our president would like to sometimes, some GOTDAMN time, tell a mfer what’s really on his mind. Check this out. If the cameras were not flashing, and if he, President Obama, would not be attacked from jokers on the left and clowns on the right, I believe the conversation would have been as followed:

Donald Trump: Mr. President, since you’re a black man and we’ve never had a black president, would you show us your birth certificate. We know your mother was white so we have a few questions.

The President: Look here you fu*kin’ weasel, you can miss me with that bullshit and kiss the pink part of my assh*le. How dare you offend me and my mother in that fashion.

Trump: But Mr. President, the public has a right to know about all the affairs of your mother and rather or not you’re really an American.

The President: Is that right? Well, I hate to talk about yo momma , she was a good ol' ho, with a two dollar pumtang, and a rubber a$$hole. See man, you done pissed me off and set off the natural black man in me. Your mother was talking about wrappin’ her thang around my chin. I told her she should be blowing it out her a$$ and try to be my mutherfkin’ friend.

Trump: OH NO, not another angry black man?

The President: OH NO MFer, don’t start crying like a bitch now, you started this shit. Your eyes my shine and you teeth my grin, but I’m tired of you diggin’ in my ass one mo again... you and all your friends. Hug me, love me, or leave me the fu*k alone, because I’m the HNIC up in this motherfu*ker.

Well my friends, that’s what the president would like to say. Yeah, he’d like to pull out his Johnson and slap some folks with it. See, as I said, some people are never going to change regardless of what we say or what names we call them. So we might as well lead with a good left hook and an uppercut while they keep on jabbing. Yeah, fuck’em and the confederate horses they rode in on. Hey, my daddy told me you have to bring some to get some, or get out of the damn fight. Bullies love punks. No, I have to disagree. It's not only Republicans and those that want to be fooled. At the root of racism, there's a learned behavior. And since most whites are privy to the scorn and hateful ways of "some" racist bigots and what they will do, like many blacks, they will run to the most popular and favorable opinion. Fear impedes their ability to voice a different opinion, or make a move that's directly different than those of their friends and family. And we have to consider that fact that everyone is not or will not vote on the "issues", many are moved by their emotions. Fear trumps logic.

So, as displayed by the comments from some of our white friends, when we discuss racism, they do not understand where we are coming from, and thus, they frequently move to the other side. So I am suggesting that if President Obama overtly attacks the subject of racism and how it's relates to him, he'll find himself in a no-win situation.

I believe it has little or nothing to do with "wanting to be fooled".

When you bring your icon/role model (your challenger) make sure they do not have any "alledged" character flaws that would disqualify them from being your children's role model. And then, make sure their accomplishments were as monumental as those of President Obama's. Seriously, when I read your comment, I heard the same voice of those who ambivalently cast aside Oprah, under the banner "she panders to her white audience", missing the fact that you can't deny the truth. Oprah has given voice to more intelligent and artistic people of color than any person on this earth. That list numbers in the thousands. From black politicians , filmmakers,black authors, black musical geniuses, black business owners, heads of foreign states, prominent black lawyers, doctors, chief cooks and bottle washers, Oprah has been the driving force in exposing them to the world, which opens a door for more to follow ( OH, do I hear Obama). Oh, should I mention her unmatched effort to highlight the ever- present struggles of the black female. Wait, seems to me Michelle is part of Obama's message. Can you hear it, can you see it? Well, that message goes out to every black youth... "Get a good education and a good black women, and then the sky is the limit". Last, we gotta mention Oprah's nearly 1/2 billion dollars she's given to the needy.

Look, you may not like Oprah because of her fortune and fame (same for president Obama), and you may not like her interviewing style (same-same Obama), and I understand that, however, does that diminish her and his overall accomplishments? Well, I'm just asking because I know it does not. I also know some people are constitutionally incapable of seeing the truth, even when it smacks them in their face. And again, the truth does not lie.

I checked out your post. You're to be commended. Your patience is to die for. Although the conversations were not of those at The Field Negro blog, it's very difficult to have an open and honest conversation with most white folks, on the subjects of race and racism.

Thanks yawl. As you may know (obviously) I don't edit my comments. And a spell check is a waste of time (imo). For me, it's about the overall message. Sometimes, I have my lady read them if they're long, but for the most part I let them fly. So, before I hit the send tab, I asked her to read this one (out-loud) so I could hear it's flow. Well, she started laughing so hard I thought she was going to wee-wee on herself. Anyway, after posting it here at Jack and Jill, I did edit it (the best I could) and then posted it at my blog.
