The only L & L shoot I know of where the audience was made up entirely of magicians and they were heavy hitters as well.

John was the MC for our Halloween show. It was good to see him again at the Will Houstoun lecture.

Did anybody notice who the guy was walking down the aisle toward the stage at the beginning of the video? He looks familiar, but I can't seem to place him.

Sure. I liked it for the fact that it was Vernon's annotations. It wasn't a bad book, and I consider it one of my most cherished books. The Ortiz book had the same Erdnase reprint, but with different material added and more extensive commentary. Erdnase is a book that deals mostly with cheating at the card table using false deals and what not. It has a section in the back with card tricks. It was originally written in 1902.

I bought the original a few years ago from a guy in Nashville. It was basically a reprint of "Expert at the Card Table" with some commentary by Vernon. "Expert" is a rather technical book and certainly difficult to read. I liked Darwin Ortiz's "Annotated Erdnase" better than I did "Revelations." I'm waiting to see what the response will be to this new book. Jamy Ian Swiss gave it a glowing review in Genii this month. Allan Ackerman is coming out with a DVD set covering the original "Expert" book in the next few months. Do you know how many versions of "Expert" I have in my house? Too many.

Bill Bixby was turning green by the time I saw him around 1977 or so. I missed this show by a year or two. I've heard Steve Mac talk about it alot. I think he has episodes on video.
