OK. I had assumed the pic was of the kit version of the 5d, which would have given you the 24-105mm lens. That lens comes with a more shallow hood. Thanks.

Thanks for your very readable review. I have two follow up questions to Victor's question:
1) When you mention the camera needs to "rest" after a few minutes, is this because the camera body heats up a bit, as I've read from some of the other reviews online or is there some other artifact that occurs from continual video?

2) Does the statement you make after your paragraph that describes the heat problem: "unless you are going to use a tripod or steadicam mount you need to understand that this camera is NOT a video camera" imply that heat issues will decrease if you keep the camera steady; ie, the camera's sensor is not doing as much work?
