Thanks for the response. I just wanted to add on that I do like reading your reviews. They seem to come from a different angle than the Sepinwall/Av Club perspective, and helps me digest these shows on a additional literary levels. And the fact that -and I feel comfortable in saying- your writing comes from a very liberal perspective (which is obviously not an attack), helps me see views/themes in postmillennial prestige dramas that I would normally ignore/be ignorant to coming from my frat-boy right-leaning views.

And just for fun, my two-cents on The Leftovers is that I enjoy it simply because of the "thought-experiment" aspect of it. And for me, that tends to drown out any of the other "problems" the shows has with delivering a enjoyable narrative. Whereas i watch HaCF for: Mackenzie Davis not wearing a bra (see above), Lee Pace's Don Draper xtra-lite, the music, and yo-yo's everything.

I found it interesting that yout disliked the most recent episode of The Leftovers due to its rehash of stereotypical tropes, but you liked this episode when it did the exact same thing, forget parent on a vision quest (i was waiting for Sinbad to show up) or angry housewife who is about to cheat, etc. Is it because HaCF is a C show making a B episode and the Leftovers is an A show making a B episode, and thus the tone of your review of HaCF is more positive?

I wouldn't say that is hustle is not there, rather is first touch is very heavy. He is also trying to make homerun passes and completely missing them.
