I use Inkscape and the GIMP for most of our promo material at &lt;a href="http://www.swingdynamite.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="http://www.swingdynamite.com"&gt;Swing Dynamite&lt;/a&gt; with a lot of success.  I prefer the GIMP to Photoshop, actually.
