I think this industry needs even more competition.

It's interesting that Steve Jobs claimed that Android was a stolen product by Google, hopefully Schmidt wasn't as involved with the strategic decision to build Android while he served on the Apple board, that would just be purely wrong from a professional/fiduciary standpoint.

I think Microsoft is very reliable. Haven't heard of any problems with their cloud system, never lost a Hotmail email, nothing. And don't forget that some gmail users lost their emails a few months ago or so, don't remember if those people got their email back though.

Apple has fixed the issue. At the time this article was published, the company had yet addressed the issue.

An update to this post has been made. I’ve pasted the update in this comment to ensure all readers see it, due to caching.

Update: Apple has fixed the problem via a software update on their servers. Even if you have the old version of the client, the problem has been fixed, and no other action is required on your end.

I don't think a class action would work, I mean who knows if their data was compromised, and I'm sure those specific details wouldn't be released by the company...

The article was subsequently updated yesterday as more information was learned, but due to a caching error, the older version remained available to readers. You might have to clear your cache everyone.

A person familiar with the workings told us the next big version of OS X will in fact include native multi-touch support, the person did not elaborate more specifically towards discussing actual products under current development

Hi folks,

The PNG is the version Google has published in its testing because the WebP format is not currently supported by mainstream browsers. The idea is to observe the texture differences compared to the JPEG. Thanks folks!

Both Reddit and Digg, and any other social news site, must remain neutral communities that are equitable for everyone, and right now, it seems Digg is most equitable. However, that is not to say outright spam must not be moderated. Moderation and equity could co-exist. That's how I feel.

I really think Android will do really well in the future, Google is taking the right step of making Android open and free for device makers, it will really penetrate the mobile market because of that strategy and that is exactly why Gartner Research is now forecasting Android would over edge out RIM from 2nd top smartphone-maker

It is simply not necessary for Facebook to make their own operating system, it is far too saturated.

They just need to keep building on their mobile apps, and the iPhone app is by far the best.
