i think pretty much everything nic is saying in this thread about the scientific debate is manipulative and silly. but i have to agree with him, that people shivering during a global warming protest is very very funny. humour doesn't have to be fair.

nic, yes science is always open to attack. the question is, is the person doing the attacking worth the attention? in the case of blair and bolt, the answer is a clear no.

there's probably a few thousand people on the planet who know enough to form a reasoned and informed opinion on AGW. what we can form a reasoned and informed opinion on is the nature of the scientific process and the scientific community, and who we should reasonably trust.

it is not opinions on AGW here that can be of value. it is opinions on who is a knowitall anti-scientific twat.
