Yea Koreans can be jerks. I remember one time I was somewhere near Koreatown in L.A. and I stopped to asked a cute asian girl where a street was. She stared at me as if I had the nerve to talk to her. Her boyfriend then walked up behind her and gave me some daggards to follow.

I didn't do anything and drove away but I almost got out of my car and walked up them to see if they can speak English. If they started giving crap about approaching a strange woman, then I would have drilled them really hard in a debate on how foreigners that don't properly assimulate into our culture don't belong here.

I suspect they were Koreans.

Also, Japanese get really upset if you ask them what their ethnic background is. I suspect they are carrying a lot of luggage around in regards to the Rape of Nanking and the comfort women in Korea and the Philippines and just the whole WW2 thing in general.

They don't like it when you put them in that situation. At least some of the ones I have contacted with.

It appears that Wikipedia's page on Hong Kong must be blocked by the Chinese so I can't give you exact info other than Hong Kong had been a British territory for a very long time. At least as long as in the 1880's.

There is much about how England used Hong Kong to get the Chinese addicted to Opium to finance their wars.

Almost sounds like the Iran/Contra affair claims by Bill Cosby in which he believes the CIA intentionally allowed and took part in cocaine drop int he Mojave Desert in which was diverted to South L.A. as crack to the black population.

If you have a motorhome with a/c not really. It can get pretty sunny and warm and can be a little too much. Right across Hwy1 is a hiking trail that goes through a beautifull cyn and up to Pt. Magu hill.

If you are an American Patriot after making that climb I suggest that you will be emotionally moved by the view and what you will find. (which takes a few hours there and back) there is a flag pole on the top of the hill that will probably have a battered American flag. Under that flag you will find a plastic tube. In that plastic tube you will find testimonies from people of all walks of life.

See, if you continue down the hill the opposite direction, you will be going down a very steep trail that ends at the beach about 4 miles or so north of the campsite. At that point, you have run into the Navy SeaBee Rifle Range. More times then not, you will be guilded to that point by the sound of their rifles during the week.

In knowing that while watching the sun set just past the Channel Islands from the that hilltop, you will realize that our men use that very steep part of the that trail to emulate the taking of Iwo Jima during the Pacific Theatre in which without our SeeBeas, we wouldn't have had navel aircraft possitions in order to further advance.

If your lucky, you will also wittness those radar planes circling Port Hueme ( can't spell it) and they will occasionally fly right over you.

Anyway, I recommend that trial before sunset if your not afraid to hike back at night. If you want to make it back to civilization on HWY 1 before complete darkness, then I recommend you take the steep trail down back to the Seabee Rifle Range. You can do it in an hour if you hussle.

Well that wasn't my intention when I voted for the little creep. My intentions, like many, was to make a statement of dissatisfaction in both the Republican and Democratic parties. In saying that, I don't think Perot stole any particular amount of votes from either party. If you are saying that most Perot supporters were Libertarians then you may be right on that point. But if Libertarians are going to vote for Perot then there is problem with Republicans talking out of the side of their mouth when it comes to tax and spend issues.

I will have to do some research on your claim that taxes caused by taxes only to invalidate your baseless claim with reliable sources. I'm suggesting that my intuition is telling me that you are full of it while having no more proof or your claim then I do at this point.

My memory of the early 90's recession was more like an economic transition in which Bush Sr. and Clinton started the NAFTA agreement causing a huge shift in our labor market.

High taxes causes inflation not recessions.

Your assertion that Bush's Reconsiliation Act may have some influence on Clinton's economic glory years may or may not have some validity to it but as my last quote would suggest, we are not sure why. There are only politically subjective ideas floating around just as there are today with this recession.

But one thing is for sure, this huge housing market crises and the biggest recession ever started and fermented under the Republican watch and as the Great Depression was under a Republican Administration as well. It took FDR's social policies to turn us around and it appears that Obama's policies are doing the same. Not even 6 months into his office and we are seeing substantial progress.

According to the S&P we are were about were Bush left it with the momentum going up.

There is a state beach just north of Santa Barbara just before the 101 turns inland towards Solvang. I forgot the name of it but it is really nice. I'm knocking my head trying to remember. For Motorhomes, it only costs $15.00 to stay at Thornebroome State Beach in which you park right alongside of the beach. There's no shade. If you want some nice shade, go about 1/2 mile south to Sycamore Cyn Beach and those are $25.00 but are very nice. Forget if you don't have a reservation for the weekend thou.

I champion those because of my mountain bike and hiking aspirations.

True, your experience with Asians may be completely different then mine. China town in Los Angeles actually has more Vietnamese then Chinese in part because most Chinese have assimulated better and are doing much better in Monterey park where they have some very nice homes. I don't know Vietnamese people very well so I just know that much about them.

There are quite a few of them in Hong Kong. I can't undstand them and it is strange how they have a British accent when they speak with the choppy language of theirs. Really weird.

I just recently had to go to the U.S. Embassy in Hong Kong to add pages to my passport for filling it with stamps from comming and going from South East Asia. I also lived in areas of Los Angeles in Chinatown and Monterey Park. I also speak Mandarin fluently.

I don't know if you noticed lately but China is changing faster than any other nation towards democracy --- they are just doing it on thier own terms which I respect.

I suggest you go to your local library and check out a book on how to learn Chinese. Not to learn the language but to learn something about your own bias.

After studying some of the most basic expressions such as "ni hao" = how are you, and "wei shem ma ming zi" = what is your name?

take that little bit of knowledge along with the book to your favorite Chinese restaurant. Practice on a Chinese/American citizen that works there that knows some English and tell him/her the truth. You want to learn something about their culture.

You will be suprised of how receptive they will be. You will see the human side of Asians and you may be very supprised.

As a white man who has an intimate relationship with the Chinese, I can tell you that the majority of Chinese are very kind, passionate, and very hard working individuals. These are not virtues that are compatible to your current opinion.

This is my last day posting under this screen name. Later, I will pick a new screen name and choose another tactic of being a pain in the rear to fanatical right wing nuts. I've been entertaining this website for 6 years now and I don't remember you.
I have assumed many names over the years and have typically been mistaken for a liberal for which I'm not. For whatever reason, FPM hasn't booted me off. Usually, they don't tolerate my outspoken sarcastic ridicule of their articles and slamming other points of view. They seem to have lost their communist ways. Could that really explain why you don't like comming here anymore? This format is no different than the last one other than the ability to twitter and other advance tools. You can sort newest or most popular and so forth. You and continue your debate via your e-mail. You don't have to wade through strings as you claim. On the contrary.

Bottom line is that you don't want to visit a site that doesn't boot people off the site that oppose your opinion anymore. It use to be that a bunch of you use to get your chicken shit kicks by bullying people off the site with shouting them out with absurd rhetoric in which they didn't share your fanatical point of view.

With the array of tools they have now, the playing field of debate has been leveled and the quality of discourse has improved sense you, JohnnyMac, Doc Oshrow, Jenny Lowe, Donal the constant b*tch and many other freaks in which I have forgotten their name have left.

What discourse should be is comming to the conclusion through a consensus of agreement of what the truth is. Posting article related opinions and/or combined with other current events while using classic skills in logic is what FPM is trying to accomplish. Sooner or later, FPM posters will learn how to effectively use the "like" option to make a the best and most responsible comment the most visible and voted as the likely solution/truth. Essentially, Perot existed because the voters didn't trust either party and Perot represented those people in the middle.

Clinton, by far, is the most political savy President of our time. He can wine and dine and smooze better than anyone and that is what got him elected.
