There were around 17 resolutions came out. Illegitamate Burmese regime does not worry about it because these resolutions are "non-binding" in nature. That is why, it was end up in UNSC which has some extent of binding in nature. Although SA Government said SA seriously concerns about HR problem in Burma. But Since 1991, UNGA around 17 resolution on HR violation in Burma, SA support these HR resolutions ONLY 2 times in total which is in 1994 and ?1996. The rest did not support it according to the UN record.
As comrade, George said they are planning between 2 powers. If those who really consider for the people of Burma, it should NOT compromised with lives of ordinary people from the ground. People from Burma are under the miltary tranny for 50 yeras since 1962. It is enough is enough.
SA reject at UNSC has given to international community wrong message.
If it is the case of US / Britain and Russia/China power struggle, it should be highlighting about their international stand and stand for people of Burma rather than against the resolution. The resolution is aslo clearly mentioned based on peaceful nature.
