I don't know the last time I had a bomber of something and I only try new things when I go to a brewery. Keeping up with all of the beers and trying them all seems like a fool's errand at this point.

Bull E. I don't get why you're so adamant that the bicyclist was in the wrong. If the light was green he shouldn't have been in the intersection. But, the bicyclist was in a crosswalk and, at least where I'm from, drivers aren't allowed to just plow through people in a crosswalk. And if you do hit someone in a crosswalk, or anywhere, you should probably wait around for the police.

So, you're right. The biker was probably responsible, but I guarantee the driver doesn't feel that great about himself today. I don't get why people get so up in arms to be mildly inconvenienced by people on bicycles.

Bull E. In my experience with bike commuting, this is one of a few intersections where you have to be perfect and look out for everything. It was here that I was honked at, cursed at and flipped off by a school bus driver with a full load of children. All I was doing was crossing with the light and he wanted to turn through the intersection and I was in his way. Luckily I was far enough through the intersection to not get hit but I'm still a little pissed at that guy 2 years later.

Bull E. But, at 5 in the morning when this happened, I wouldn't be surprised at any chain of events.

Bull E. Like you said they can "learn". Most kids learn by doing so it would follow that they would have to have had a meltdown to "learn" to behave the next time. It isn't that I don't believe kids can behave, I think it's overwhelmingly the case that they behave, it's that I think the kidless think it's as simple as telling the kids to behave and failure to take that step means it's bad parenting.

Bull E. It is dark and ignorant and most anti-kid sentiment comes from younger people who have no kids of their own. The attitude "just control your kids", "kids should be quiet", etc. is just as ignorant sounding coming from someone who's never been responsible for kids as anything some 1950's Alabama racist may have said about Jim Crow laws.

Bull E. It's their right to run their business as they see fit. It also gives parents a clue where they are welcome to bring their kids. What discourages me are places that don't have a rule about kids, but make it nearly impossible to bring your kids, whether it be no high chairs, no entertainment, long wait times, etc.. It frustrates everyone when there is an unruly kid around and parents are just as frustrated as the eternally kidless. I have no problem with people wanting to eat somewhere without kids causing disruptions, just like I have no problem with restaurants that cater to kids with kids running around everywhere. It gives people choices and a choice is always better.

Bull E. Cathy Jolly, Sam Brownback, the Funk, Ed Eilert, etc. should have as little to no say in what I eat than Fidel Castro. What someone eats is just not anyone else's business and it's a shame that people think it is. If you're fat and unhealthy, you probably shouldn't eat fast food. If you're poor and on the brink of malnutrition a couple of $1 hamburgers is a pretty good choice.

Also what is fast food? Is it just the boogeymen of Burger King and McDonald's? Are they really worse for you than Houlihan's, Cheddars or Applebees? Are they worse for you than The Rieger, R Bar or Julian?

If you, even for a second, consider it's a good idea that your local government should stop you from eating food with a certain caloric content, in 10 years you'll be rolling over when the government decides you can only eat salad for lunch.

Be responsible for yourself but protect others from government intrusion into their lives if they make different choices than you.

Bull E. Did it impress your friends and family? These are questions that should be asked, not giving the duke a numerical value.

Bull E.
