After all, one's personality is much more than what their face looks like!
There are lots of options to consider: does the bot use precise and technical language exclusively? Does it use slang? Does it tell jokes? (okay, you answered that one!) These sorts of decisions will have a big impact on how users perceive the bot, and could also influence your process for coming up with the visual appearance of the character. Curious to know if you considered these aspects.

Re: Eating beans instead of beef will put a dent in greenhouse gas emissions

I came here looking for this comment. But I find this sentence quite odd:

"It won't be long till we see an HTML5 design from Facebook that
delivers an almost identical user experience across both the desktop and
multiple devices."

Much of the value that responsive design brings to the table is the
ability to deliver a customized – and different – experience to the
user, depending on their device context...

Re: Make Music on Your iPad with the TableTop Modular Audio Environment

Definitely could make some cool soundtracks for home videos & mtn biking videos!

Re: Neighbors say the old PTL tower "has to go"

where's the Facebook page?

Re: Most Tweets Produce Zero Replies or Retweets [STUDY]

plus they don't seem to be tracking clicks on tweeted links. The bar was open, the apps were delish, the conversations were stimulating. I think I only talked to about 1/3 of the people there, but managed to find almost all of the Twitterers. I've been a sporadic and unenthusiastic user of Twitter for awhile, but having an event and a group of people to focus it on took it to another level! Amazing.
I hope to post some notes & thoughts soon. Kinda bummed that I actually have work I need to do... we'll see how that goes...
*budesigns = ben
