I might have something wrong in my syntax, but when I try to get the children element in the App component, which is called by AppContainer, children comes up NULL. I'll keep digging, but there's something I'm missing about how children get passed along to the container.

How does a container interface with react-router's IndexRoute and the children components? Forgive the vague question, I just haven't been able to find an example combining these two approaches. I examined the Meteor Chef base repo and couldn't find any references to the createContainer idiom within its use of the react-router system. And Meteor's guides on createContainer don't use the IndexRoute feature in react-router at all.

FYI, I could only get this repo working if I ran it on port 3030. Not sure why.

Thanks for posting this. I think I finally get how to accomplish some basic page transitions.

I did notice one typo in your code example. I think the second example should read:

animateContentIn = function() {
$('#content').addClass("animated fadeIn");
return $('footer').removeClass("hide");
}

// define this as a global onAfterAction so it happens all the time
Router.onAfterAction(animateContentIn)

Also, I wondered if you know how to pause the page routing while the animation takes place. I have an odd use case and would like the page transition to take two seconds. With this method the animateContentOut animation starts but doesn't get to finish because the router navigates away while it's animating. I'm thinking about using the waitOn hook in IR, but I can't figure out how to do a setTimeout and get waitOn to recognize it as a reason to delay the routing.

When you say "App" do you mean mobile phone or tablet application developed for iOS or Android, only? I'm always a bit befuddled at how people break these down and use that term.

C'mon News Hour. Do a little background work on these people. I fully agree with the gist of the story, but the inclusion of Geoffrey Weglarz is a mistake. It's too easy to shoot holes in his personal story, because of some easily findable background details. This kicks the legs out from under this important real story.
