I love it that you have taught the kids that it matters to Mum and that you reinforce that by keeping up the ritual even when you know sleep will evade you. I find that sooooo inspirational.

I used to dream of not being able to go to school in the snow when I was a kid so I could stay at home and have tea and marie biscuits with my Mum, but Finn is FUMING and absolutely desperate to be back so he can chuck snowballs all over the big field!
That old Mummy magic seems to have lost some of its charm...

Old fashioned allure is definitely the right description Valerie! I have only just started it, but I am thoroughly enjoying the tone of the storyteller so far and can't wait to curl up with a hot water bottle in bed tonight and really dig in..

I can't decide whether it's real or not: certainly it isn't a modern spoof and as far as I can tell this rather scary aide to good housekeeping was considered innovative at the time. By who I couldn't possible say!

Hello Sweetie! Now then I've looked into this and although I use Windows Live Writer to draft all my blog posts, I pulled up the blogger window to test it in chrome and found that if I hover over the picture, wait for the box with the sizes in it to show up and then press down and hold, I can move the images just fine in Chrome. Are you using Blogger or Blogger In Draft?

And for your second niggle: yep agreed! Having no back button history is driving me nuts, although I do tend to open new tabs for all new links, so it isn't too bad, and a quick click on new tab brings up all the pages I have recently closed in the box underneath my pinned bookmarks.

If all that makes any sense at all!x
