As the complete opposite of you, I went to J-school and decided afterwards that a reporter is not what I wanted to be. I think up and coming journalists are trained now to try to balance the scales, even if they don't shake out that way naturally. "Telling both sides of the story" has come to mean omitting precious facts and adding sometimes irrelevant ones, all in an attempt, as you put it, to look non-biased. I have screamed at my computer screen a lot this week watching the RNC speeches. How can this be possible?

With regard to the dishonesty of politicians, my only hope is that after the Republican party completes its implosion, they will conclude in retrospect that blatant lies is not what people want...

But I'm not going to hold my breath.

Re: Sí ¿cómo no? - Playa Negra, a black sand beach on one end of...

I've been here:-) Love the black sand.

Re: The Haute Topic

Just when I start to get excited again about her futuristic style, she goes and does this...just sad.

Re: Sammy D on what it means to be AWKWARD

You two make AWKWARD cool.
