Me thinks they do and have very well thought out, tested products & features - which are mostly aped by others in a few years.

nicely written, good article. Besides anything else, AAP should be given a chance - given that the alternatives have had years and years - and have only underperformed (outperformed each other as far as corruption is concerned, yes) - consistently.

nicely written - and my usage pattern(on an iPhone) is almost similar - except music, which also forms a significant part of usage for me.

However, I'd disagree as far as the tablet usage is concerned - of course, i do not carry it as I carry my phone - but when home, the browsing experience, news, book-reading (flipboard, zite etc) can't be matched at all - i don't remember when I last used my phone for news/book-reading. Having said that, before I had the iPad, i did use the phone to do these things and they seemed fantastic - but now that I've tasted the iPad blood, it's just not the same.

And yeah, I too find it weird that people would upgrade their 4 for 4S, which hardly had any upgrades other than Siri, cam & faster processor(but again, 4 is fast enough) - although if I'd recommend a new phone to anyone in the market, it'd be an iPhone - simply because of its simplicity, finesse and ubiquitous nature (support, upgrades & understanding)
I've tried to be as mild as possible an  fan can be :)

you would need to create that file in your notepad ++ and then save it in the desired directory ( this is mentioned in the instructions above -- attention to detail :))

well, maybe apple didn't really invent the design - maybe. But the world really has to be blind to not see that post '07 every single smart phone - looks more or less like an iPhone.

android OS + hardware from HTC,motorola, samsung, sony, micromax, amazon, lava etc. feels like a ill fitting dress. Naturally, they don't have the made-for-each-other thing like Apple.
And if someone is saying that there is better design than Apple's (at least, as of now), I really would want to see it.

They have their own restrictions but there really isn't a better design than Apple. Not yet.

fragmentation: how is this being addressed? Promised by google, but not delivered. ICS has not solved that problem at all, at least not yet.

Control: Google doesn't really control android now (amazon tablet), so really hard to believe that they can control manufacturers.

Yeah, I read the 'google vs amazon article' too, and I still don't get why google would 'want' that.
That android is growing exponentially, much more than apple, is doubtless. Will android ever get that finesse comparable to iOS is something time would tell. With the 'appeasing' nature of android, it looks unlikely.
