I was "retired" from reading or posting here, I work too much to spend the time to do the due diligence I would like to do before posting so I would not appear a fool. I had thought the north-end Tea party members to hold all the records for ridiculous posts. I must say you are the new winner. To take what Mr. Tender said and spin and twist it and relate it in any way to the tragedy of Rep. Giffords shows how shallow a person you really are. I live in Freeland, in the effected area and was/am unhappy with what I have been reading in the paper about the LID. As I now do not want to have anything at all in common this the likes of you, brunke, I will vote for Rocky and Jim.

Uh, Emerson, that's half of the economy of the Southend. Why suggest turning them in? Why buy from someone who is "amped up" in the first place? That's like sailing your boat into Somalia waters. Sure you have your safe source now so you are happy. It's insane that it's illegal in the first place. I disagree with your letter.

So now Edain is lawyer? Until the citizens of Langley who believe in the City and the rule of law, (GMA) stand up and tell WEAN to back the hell out of Langley every move the city makes will cost a lot more then it should. Those are our dollars that the city is spending to try and push forward any project that WEAN tries to delay until the proponent simply gives up. I wonder how much McCord had to "donate" to get WEANs help. Just disgusting. On the upside, sounds like you are almost ready to grow a pair Mr. Gilman. Freeking control freak

Daniel, I like most of your posts, you're like the paxil in the water suggesting that we think of the impact of our words before we post. That's a good thing, we have enough rude and crude here, I'm including myself. :) The irony here for me at least is what GotJobs posted at the top. The author of the letter has a long history of spreading misinformation, to garner support for what ever issue he supports or is fighting against.This paragraph especially makes me gag, because it is simply noise "I am hopeful of one thing, especially in this season of camaraderie, compassion and sharing. It is that with every comment made about our terrific city with its many wonderful people, or every suggested solution to the complex and myriad problems Langley shares with thousands of small towns, we really try to express without intent to wound or vilify anyone at all. We have you all to point out , ad nauseum, whats wrong with Langley, I don't blame Fran for pointing out a little of what is going right. Yes there are serious problems, but I think I see some progress. I like the Main Street program too, but I feel the same way about Ms. Tiller that you seem to feel about Langley city government. After getting kicked out of Coupeville by the Port, she has landed in Langley and hasn't stopped whining once.

I have no indication that MMH is stepping down, that rumour has been swirling around for months, and I completely disagree with your assessment. BTW MMH started as a school board member. At the risk of bringing down the wrath of the posters, I don't see where Ms, Neff called Ms. Waters ANY names. I have read the post several times. Clearly it was a mistake to post on Rene's part and an public apology is deserved and the post should be removed from the city site and as Dave suggested Rene should call the SWR and ask to have it removed. But this "off with her head" attitude seems over the top to me. Just saying......

Do you know that for sure? How do you know Rene didn't post the blog BEFORE Ms Waters submitted her application? Do you know? "Nauseating or not, what Ms. Neff did was not legal" is a pretty strong accusation. I do agree that Ms. Neff should not have posted her criticism of Ms. Waters on the city blog. But Illegal? Perhaps. Is Ms Water's truly a "qualified candidate"? By that I mean does she live in Langley and has she for the last year? I agree she would make a good councilperson, but she too has an agenda. She wants to develop her land, nothing the matter with that, but I would prefer someone with no agenda other then good open government.You seem to love rhetoric and hyperbole. Lets do some fact finding..

So to preserve the view and "bluff integrity" of the wealthy who can afford to live on the bluff, no one else can build behind them even though studies, and the Planner, and the PAB say the bluff stability issue can be and has been mitigated? I live near the development, I support it.

I am not suggesting that it would be illegal, just improper. I agree that holding a city position should not curtail any-one's rights (although it does), but both Robin and Gail were in appeal of a decision by both the PAB and the Council before they applied for the positions. I have no problem with Gail on P&OS Committee. Little chance of conflict there, but still it bears scrutiny
