If they actually build it in this style I will be thrilled. I don't know why it's so hard to build something that makes sense with the architecture around it. Most of the buildings in these styles were not "authentic" at the time they were built either!

When I used to live downtown and ride a bike to Beverly Grove I would take the Spring St lanes to these 7th st. lanes. This was always the scariest part of the entire commute.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the right turn lane at Fig will be any different -- navigating that with the buses and long line of cars was scary. But it looks like the eastbound travel will be much more pleasant, I remember taking that narrow lane home in the dark with lots of cars sneaking up behind you to turn right was not fun.

I've noticed that a lot of places around LA keep box signs and the like. I've mentally hypothesized it probably actually has less to do with being cheap and more to do with already having a permit for the sign and therefore not needing to apply for a new one.

Also wow -- they didn't even bother to cut tree wells in the sidewalk where the rendering depicted trees. I know this sounds insane but I feel like we need to start mandating whatever landscaping is depicted in the rendering.

I'll readily admit I know jack about budgets for bridges. Just sounds like it could be done a lot simpler and cheaper -- for example, those pedestrian bridges across freeways cost about $5 million. But regardless I'm happy it's getting done.

I guess I'm in the minority, I actually think this is a rather handsome design. Once street trees go in, it'll be understated but classy as far as these wood frame stuccos go. The accents make sense, the proportions are right. I'm not sure what y'all are complaining about.
