We would dive off a part of the submarine that was about 60ft. Each time I would walk to the edge and look over I would feel fear. I learned that just running and jumping (facing the fear head on) was the best way and that once I jumped I had to do my best to land right. So in life I tend to jump in with no fear, knowing I will do my best. You have to have faith in yourself and know you can overcome the fear in your life.

Re: Will Nets Break an Old Taboo?

I agree. I was a promotions producer for UPN 38 and again at a WB affiliate. Putting show promos on your own station only shuffles around your current viewers, with no chance of gaining new viewers. I always compared it to having a bad hand in poker, shuffle that same hand and it's still bad. You have to get access to new cards.

Re: Let’s Discuss Social Media Taboo

I would never advise my clients to violate the terms of use.

Re: TAP – NY Beer Festival 2010

Great post, Great Beer, and Great photos....thanks Gservo!!

Re: http://blog.jgreghenderson.com/post/553381552

It's not about free stuff, it is about going beyond trying to be one of the "cool kids" in social media. If you "get" social media do you have to check in, or should you already know who is going where and doing what. The "cool kids" change services every week, and that is the job of early adopters, but for these SM tools to be accepted my the masses, and used for businesses there is still a lot of work to do.

I never said I was an "expert" but I do try to use these tools to get results, and I am asked by others how to get results for their business. So sometimes I may not "follow" the flock blindly.

Re: Cooking with Guinness on St. Patty’s Day

Here is a Guinness cake http://beerutopia.stationx....

Re: Forget #SXSWi, What 3 non-geeks taught me about the location wars.

Yes

Re: Forget #SXSWi, What 3 non-geeks taught me about the location wars.

I guess my point is everyone is trying to make the next great new social network. do we need another? I had to turn off notification because of SXSWi check ins, the people I follow on twitter are no longer a person but a location based app check in. So now I must keep up with Facebook, linked in, Twitter, Gowalla, Foursquare, and email, thank god Buzz has not taken off or there would be another. I do like Gowalla and see the future in it for advertising and marketing, but for mass adoption this all has to get easier to manage

Re: What you don’t say matters

There will be more of this in the future as more people discover Social Media. That became www.beerutopia.com is it a blog, vlog, magazine?
