I hear the new Diana cameras come with a long exposure adapter so you can do night work with them, and are less expansive then re-investing in a whole new system.

Re: http://www.boyghost.com/post/2940943185

Not a damn thing :)

Re: http://www.boyghost.com/post/2968639935

No worries! Something like this would only be the next logical step after V-Chips, parental restrictions, safe searches and web filtering services that already exist in technologies like television and internet.

What's not clear is whether or not this is an automatic function of the phone, or if it is opt-in. In application, the decision to use or not use the technology would rest solely with the parents. Of course, if it was a default, unchangeable feature of the phone, that's a completely different story.

I will reserve judgement until all the facts about this service come out. Until then, it only makes sense that this would be a voluntary, opt-in application and I think any company that assists a mother or father in parenting is making a good decision. Having a mobile phone can teach children an important lesson in responsibility. Granted, I wouldn't trust a teen with an iPhone solely for financial reasons, but if you have the means and willpower to limit a child's perceived freedom to do whatever the hell they want until they're responsible enough to fully understand those decisions, hey, more power to ya.

And end rant.

Re: http://boyghost.tumblr.com/post/1040289845

I can definitely see your point. Maybe this is my internal old-timer coming out, but I don't feel like the internet really carries the substance that comes from really, actually meeting another human being. When I was online, I would read about all these phenomenal people that inhabit these mystifying places, and I always thought "Man, if only people like that existed in my life."

The realization then came that these are, in fact, very real people in very real places living very real lives. It further clicked in my arguably very slow mind that all I would have to do to connect the dots, so to speak, is say "Hi" to them. To get up out of the house, to get away from the social networks that have devolved to little more than "friendship maintenance," and meet the people in the world around me.

But again, that's just my take on it. Other people's mileage may vary!

Thanks for the very insightful response.

Re: http://walpaper.tumblr.com/post/950562270

I'm not going to ruin the fun by giving it to you outright, but I'll give you this hint if you'd like to figure it out for yourself :)

Facebook messages are composed and displayed in size 8 Tahoma.

Re: http://fatchance.tumblr.com/post/867868694

Yeah, I definitely wasn't intending to slight nature/wildlife/insect pictures at all — I was more damning my own tendency to pick "soft" subjects to photograph, when my heart was telling me to go after something a little more "hard." And by that, I mean people and society.

I have a lot of respect for people that do nature photography, and I don't mean macros of flower petals covered over with a high-contrast, high-saturation layer in Photoshop. I especially have respect for insect photographers, because bugs scare the living crap out of me and I get highly uncomfortable sometimes just knowing they are literally ALL AROUND ME.

But I'm glad you got the point of what I was trying to say, and hopefully you didn't take offense! I just think all photographers from all walks should take a moment to critically review everything they shoot before AND after, to make sure they're doing what feels right to them, and to also ensure that the end-result is the best possible picture you could have taken at the time!

And, for the record, those wasp pictures robbed me of many hours of sleep. Curses upon you. I'd wish you a plague of locusts, but you'd probably enjoy photographing them :)

Re: http://fatchance.tumblr.com/post/867868694

Touché!

Re: http://sylviachi.com/post/859405778

If you find yourself near Monterey, come visit!

Re: http://beautifulordinaire.tumblr.com/post/829432682

I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought.

Re: http://walpaper.tumblr.com/post/813170727

Close -- we live in Seaside, just outside Monterey.
