Milk and Roses, which is right next door to Champion, is the best cafe I have ever been to and I've worked at a bunch of them in Brooklyn. Their backyard is gorgeous, the staff is so so nice, and they are always baking something that smells delicious. Their coffee and tea is good too, and their linzer tarts are redonk.

I definitely mean actual critics, especially the NYT. I exempt book bloggers from most of my criticisms, especially ones who aren't blogging for parent sites. They're the word of mouth factor I am hoping will be encouraged by these rules to tame the beast.

I just figured out (with some help) how to get these things working fer real.
I really want to read more Carre, and with your recommendation I now shall. I can totally see what you're saying, the writing was very good, but like I said, I need a good character and A Most Wanted Man just didn't have one.
What other thriller writers do you like?! Have you read The Millenium Trilogy?
