You did this just a bit backwards from the way I would do mine. You put the grey edging on first and I would put it on last. I think I like your method better - this keeps you from having to worry about getting it on other painted areas.

If I was gonna paint some guys up in this scheme I think I would stop at step 9 or I would put the red on before the Devlan Mud.

I love the hand print - what a neat and simple idea to really make the model stand out.

Re: Sepulchre of Heroes: Solar Rant – Discordian

I find the Solar Pulse to be a very annoying piece of wargear to play against.

However, if I was playing Necrons you can bet I would have at least one in my list.

I think the issue of people not knowing when to use the Pulse will clear up over the next few months as tournament season gets under way.

Re: The 40k n00b: Warhammer 40k Blog Network: Crimson Fist Autocannon Dreadnought #1

Solid looking model. I just don't know how all this is going to play out. I imagine as we see more and more of the 'official' model on the tables that we will start seeing fewer of the old converted models. I wouldn't have a problem at all in playing against a converted model. As long as it is pretty close to the same size and I can tell what it is I have no problems with it.

Re: Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls: Fritz 40K - Refining the Necron Scarab Farm

I like it. The label says it won't stick to resin but I haven't tried it. You would probably get better results doing that than with green stuff.

Re: Adventures In Press Molding pt. 2 - Enter the Instant Mold | The Hogs of War - Warhammer 40k Conversions and Tactics

You can use green stuff just fine. It is using a green stuff oven - a coffee can with a light bulb in it - that gives you problems. You can usually use the can and bulb as a little oven to speed up the curing of the green stuff as it is heat cured, but my setup got hot enough to melt the mold.

Re: Wednesday and my hands hurt | The Hogs of War - Warhammer 40k Conversions and Tactics

Looking nice. Can't wait to see these up at the shop. I feel for you on your hands hurting - I have been painting elves and marines like a machine the last two weeks.

@Magilla
This is actualy a pretty straight forward conversion. I have done up a batch of these myself as well as a couple other folk in the shop. You just cut the legs off of the Daemonette and cut the front part of the face off of the spider. Once you have the two models in hand it is really easy to figure out.

It ends up being a really cool conversion that looks good on the table.

Re: The Flood Gates Are Open - A TON Of New Tomb King Pictures! | The Hogs of War - Warhammer 40k Conversions and Tactics

I agree - There are gonna be some really slick conversions using these kits for Thousand Sons, Necrons, and Daemons.

Re: Foray into 40k - Raining Grey Knights | The Hogs of War - Warhammer 40k Conversions and Tactics

I can't wait to paint this beast.

Re: A Touch of Class with Papa Nurgle | The Hogs of War - Warhammer 40k Conversions and Tactics

Fixed the link.

Re: Currency Alert: Pound Sterling is Weak

Just ordered my first Forge World book this weekend because of this.

Re: How Not to Kill Your Brushes

I've been using The Masters Brush Cleaner for a little over a year and have been buying way fewer brushes since I started. We usually use beer caps, the objective markers from the green plastic icon set, dice (these usually get picked up), pieces of scrap paper or whatever else is on hand. 40mm gives you a nice sized objective that you can easily see and also gives you some room to model on.

Re: Flames of War: Building German Panzer IV's

That is a nice article. It gives them some love and will hopefully open the door for more of the offshoot races - Forge World Squats/Demiurg anyone?

This will also be good as maybe Forge World will put out the army book. This would help get more universal support on using the Forge World books in everyday gaming and smaller tournaments without a hassle.
