Not all 500,000 followers on Instagram are equal. Followers can easily be bought. If I have low engagement on my 500k followers and someone else has 500k followers with high engagement, they're worth more. Easy enough to figure out - and easy enough to know what Influencers are worth for both themselves and advertisers with Social Bluebook. You should check it out. Yes, I use it. :)

I was on a Creator Roundtable with Yahoo Video in 2008. They asked us what kind of features we wanted for our content. Almost everyone in the room was a newly minted YouTube partner. We said, "Pay us like YouTube does." They didn't and they missed out.

Looks like "Smosh Games Alliance" is the official Gaming MCN of Defy/Smosh. Do all "creator communities" ask you to sign your channels and adsense away so that they might create an MCN that none of these creators in this "Alliance" have any equity in? Might wanna put that in the fine print here. #MCN

It's the "AwesomenessTV" approach with gaming. Smart, but very deceptive and exploitative of young kids trying to make channels. Wonder how many channels and views it will take for some VC to invest in SGA and at what valuation, then how long it will take for them to flip SGA to some sucker corp? Only time will tell.
