I guess it cuts down on hotel costs for returning champions. They must have stylists there that help with wardrobe & hair to create the appearance of a "different" day. Interesting stuff!

Re: Fire ruled ‘undetermined,’ fund set up for victims

That loss estimate seems low to me. The place looks like a total loss. I hope they had insurance!

I was just speaking with a friend over the hollidays that lives in an old house in Philly, and for weeks they kept smelling a "fishy" smell in their upstairs hallway. After numerous attempts at cleaning, they finally Googled "fishy smell" and learned that arcing electrical wires can produce such an odor. Turns out, that's what is was. Luckily they fixed the problem before something bad happened.

Re: Two men accused of ATM skimming in Ballard

The tickle chair?

Re: Ballard man surpasses $150,000 on Jeopardy

Does anyone remember that old "Cheers" episode where Cliff Clavin got on Jeopardy and totally kicked everyone's ass with categories like "US Postal Service", "Living With Your Mother", and my all time favorite "Useless Facts"?

Re: Ballard man wins Jeopardy, will be back tonight

I was wondering about that...

Re: Serious injury in bizarre cab hit and run

How could nobody have noticed even the cab company for Christ's sake. Weber Thompson as a firm has consitently aligned itself with bottom-line developers, and together they crank out these uninspired buildings. Of all the bad ones they've produced, the NoMa is perhaps at the top of the heap. Rest assured we'll get a mediocre building, at best.

Re: Security camera captures man taking package

It must have been the anti-gravity machine he ordered from Amazon.

Re: Security camera captures man taking package

All of the identity obscuring in the world won't keep me from recognizing that ill-fitting plaid shirt from a mile away. I'm coming to the news late, and I can read a lot of pain & suffering in these comments. And other comments have obviously been removed for insensitivity or stupidity.

News like this brings back a lot of bad memories about what it's like to be young. Sometimes good kids make bad choices, and sometimes they pay the ultimate price. Sensitivity and compassion are what's needed here. These kids and their grieving loved ones are our neighbors.

So terrible. So very terrible.

Re: Citizens trying to save fireworks show

Wow, a half a million bucks doesn't buy you much anymore.

Re: Vacant lot to be drained, paved over

Pavement rules!

Re: Sewage overflow options for North Beach area

Wow, option 3 must be pretty spendy.
