I am, we are, feeling this Bern with you Laffy. We are on vacay this week, and have sworn off tv news for the week, in the hopes we can disconnect from this schizophrenic media debacle. I can't read anything either...but will always keep up with you. It's nuts out there. They aren't getting what they're doing. It's a feeding frenzy free-for-all and I'm done with it, and feel EXACTLY as you have outlined here.

FWIW, I don't experience the "munchies", likely because of how I use it. I use at night, before bed. After sleeping an entire night, pain free, I do wake up famished though! This is a good thing, because the way it used to be was I'd be getting up in the morning in pain, and feeling lousy, so the activity of making myself any worthwhile breakfast that can help my health, was nearly impossible. Let's just say it was hit and miss. Now, I look forward to a great breakfast once I get up after a good night's sleep. Can't wait to see how I'm feeling months down the road!

Living in WA, we've had medical MJ for several years now, but people were still met with all sorts of problems in obtaining and lawfully using, so I sat and waited. Now that Recreational use is legal, having waited out the initial hullabaloo, I finally got mine a week ago. Oh my. The patient shall be rewarded! I have slept, all night, every night since, and that's something I hadn't done in 18 years or so. It stops (Read: STOPS) the muscle spasms that wake me nightly and keep me from returning to sleep. I have hopes that it will positively impact the seizures too, but so far it hasn't. I don't care. I AM SLEEPING! No joke, I feel like my life has been returned to me.

To have withheld this from me, and obviously so many others, over profit concerns disguised in a myriad of excuses, is just criminal. Hallelujah!

Oh, and gee, fewer people die? What the hell! That's awesome too :D

Imagine all the *other* unintended deaths, now that anyone and everyone can access it. We have such a HUGE issue here with bath salts, kratom, spice, etc., we are truly hoping that legal weed will make an impact on the unnecessary deaths caused by those substances.

How could a black man (even if he is POTUS), be-bopping into Ferguson personally, possibly help that situation?

Drawing local law enforcement away from the protests? Maybe. Adding to over-taxed local services for a photo-op? This was a no-win for Obama, who no matter the leadership he could pretend to provide, the black community would believe he'd sold out, and the white community would resent him. Sure. That'll help.

Thankfully, he understands that. Unfortunately for Dowd, she does not, and she never will.

And we must stop saying "If you're sad, talk to someone, anyone. You'll feel better". What a symptom of the problems - complete and utter lack of understanding of those problems. HELP is not just talking to anyone...it's actually seeking qualified therapeutic intervention. And I think we allllll need it.

Oh Laffy - I'm so very sorry. It seems like a personal loss to so many of us, and the rest of us didn't know him as you did. To make someone laugh, is an intimate thing, and I think that's one of the reasons why this loss is so personal. Not to mention where he took us as a dramatic actor....

I am so happy for you that you got to know and work side by side with him - what a great joy that must have been!

Again, I'm sorry, and I share your sorrow my friend. Thank you for yor lovely recollections of him.

I live in WA State, you know one of the states where it's ALL legal now. Medi MJ has been legal for quite some time here, I don't remember how long. Do you know why I don't remember how long? Because nothing bad has happened because of it. Nothing. We are just getting started in the Rec MJ realm, and I think your argument Nicole is right on. Spousey runs a minimum security correctional facility, and when I brought this article to his attention on Thursday 7/31, he took a look at his population count. Eleven wouldn't be there at all for their charges. Another dozen or so, the illegal MJ charges were *part* of their charges. So, yes, it would impact correctional facilities. But in a world where we don't seem to be able to put certain people in prison because they're full, isn't this a good thing?
