Emotions are defined by experience or the lack thereof. What you don't know you can't define or can't have.

Define insecurity or weakness for me. Both of these emotions, next to a whole slew of other one's, are added over our lifespan by "others" how tend to think it is necessary that you have these type of emotions else you are incomplete. Ever given it a thought that emotions are expressed by "others" so they can feel good about themselves? Most "added" emotions are a simple deviations of the 4 basic emotions a child knows and are all based on self preservation or self expression.

Joy
Anger
Fear/Fright
Adoration

Everything else is added by "adults" as deviations.

Re: Gunman Surrenders in Fernandina

Well, I can't see the Video in our nick of the woods because of some "restrictions". Now what could these constrictions be. Homeland security? So responding to John's comment is a bit difficult as the original story doesn't tell me much.

But I do realize that in essence what John is saying would go for any part of the world about being emotional and all. And yes I can see the point why the "poor guy" is questioning how this little dispute got so out of hand that he's now sitting in Jail awaiting "bond" of some $600,000.

But the real question is that since 9/11 "right to bear Arms" in the US constitution has lead to "confusion" and it won't get any better in the current financial malaise when "emotions" will much easier escalate in despiration. What motive could the "Gunman" have to kill "13" (and himself makes it 14) in blocking the rear door of the immigration office in New York and go into the front, open fire and slaughter 13 innocent bystanders. This is intentional so murder one would have been the outcome in a trial. But let's look at the facts of this emotional act.

Was he mad because there where people applying to become residents of the USA and thus a threat to his Job?

Was it because his wife worked in the office and it was because she announced that their marriage was over and his life got flushed down the toilet?

Was it because he was a racist and he thought immigrant should not be allowed into the country anymore?

What's the trigger?

Where do lines obscure on the issue of "the right to bear Arms" is still justified under the constitution?

We can't justify the "gunman of Yew York" that he had a right to defend himself, but can we justify the poor slob that saw his life going down the toilet over a "domestic" argument escalating into a full cavalry showing up on his doorstep as if he where a "terrorist"?

Let John Wayne Return, the Wild West is on it's comeback. We only don't know if it is the Wild West or if this time it May be the Wild East that may face the music on the "right to bear arms".

Re: Felix Jones Adds Community Charm

Get with the times. It is a shame that ordinances of more than half a century ago are hampering what most semi- and tourism stimulating activities bringing back in charm to the new times. Especially when entertainment is involved. Doing a search on google about ridiculous city ordinances returns such an overwhelming amount that it would take half a lifetime to read them all. But here is a good website that will give a more than a couple of laughs: http://www.dumblaws.com/.

You can say what you want about the French but one thing they got pad down and that is how to attract tourism. I think the most famous location is Cap d'Agde on the Côte d'Azur (you know where Cannes, Antibes, St. Tropez are located) where at night the harbor is lined with hundreds of entertainers, acrobats, fast painters, craftsmen and many more. Thousands upon thousands of people stroll at night past to admire the artistry, are partaking in activities. Come to think of it must be a European "Thing". Same goes for Holland in the summer time, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece.

People love to see new things when they are on vacation. That is what creates "Memorable Moments" and the best thing, It's good for business since the restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors and bars are filled to the brim doing business even in bad times.

Oh, I forgot to mention the City of Lights, Paris with its sidewalk cafe's on Montmartre.... Ah... c'est la Vie!

Now get your "dumb Laws" off the books and start living because you know there are cities that have laws on the books that do not permit you to hit a ball with a stick within the city limits and can land you in jail... Golf anyone?

Re: Gunman Surrenders in Fernandina

I would really appreciate to find out why the censorship whereas globalization is now more than ever a question of dire need so I'm happy someone is picking up the trail. You know that Hulu.com is another of those examples. Hulu in its totality cannot be "watched" in our "neck of the Woods". Would be interesting to find out if the communication channels flagged the name of Britt Clinton Moore that triggered the interference of Swat and Jacksonville police back-up indeed. If so he was already on a "wanted" or "watched" list at least. Hence the "massive" action would be justified and maybe he's not that "poor fellow" who's live got ruined over some domestic violence gone south.

I guess a more indepth investigation would be justified in this case.

Re: Relationship between Gunman and felon Fairly Cisco of Cisco Travel Plazas?

Maybe there is even more to the story in the heritage of O. Henry's original story about the "Cisco Kid" an outlaw terrorizing around the Mexican Border in an excerpt here of O' Henry's original story: ( "...He killed for the love of it—because he was quick-tempered—to avoid arrest—for his own amusement—any reason that came to his mind would suffice. He had escaped capture because he could shoot five-sixths of a second sooner than any sheriff or ranger in the service, and because he rode a speckled roan horse that knew every cowpath in the mesquite and pear thickets from San Antonio to Matamoras.")

http://thenostalgialeague.c...

Would be interesting to track if there is any "grandfatherly relation" here.

Re: Relationship between Gunman and felon Fairly Cisco of Cisco Travel Plazas?

You bet, especially when it comes to nepotism gone south. There has to be much more to the story since there is a global reach to this. This is not some hick town story. I wouldn't be surprized to see some Drug Lord involvement out of the Mexican cartels. Nevertheless I would focus the research trail more towards the Medical Drug Trafficking.

Kuldeep Singh Sekhon, requesting trial on Drug charges to be moved to St. Louis and alleged "buyer of the Cisco Travel Plazas" intrigues me since the US is so adamant about Drugs and drug trafficking (I mean the Hard Drugs) that other "drug trafficking" (medicine drug trafficking) is only an offense punishable with a $25,000 fine while very conservative figures about medical drug trafficking, especially out of India, dwarfs the amount of cocaine cs. by a 100 fold.

Why would you buy a gasoline station? Well Gasoline is one of the best solubles for drugs including medical drugs. Since mixing drugs into gasoline makes them virtually untraceable, you have a perfect transport medium into the US from anywhere while distilling the drugs out of Gasoline is a rather "very simple process". Now you have two sources of sellable goods... drugs in its purest form as well as gasoline....

Worthwhlie checking into.

Keep me abreast john...

Re: Relationship between Gunman and felon Fairly Cisco of Cisco Travel Plazas?

Not so sure about "conspiracy mind" but more about connecting dots. Various Court papers show Mr. Kuldeep Singh Sekhon had great interest in Fuel. (http://dockets.justia.com/d... But his court case is about Medical Drugs Trafficking. What do have both in common.... nothing that meets the eye in first instance. But taking into account Sekhon's request to have a "fair" trial by requesting it to move to a more ethnically diverse community, one starts to wonder why? By putting emphasis on his ethnical descendance and knowing that India is the largest producer of generic drugs in the world, conspiracy may not be far of the mark, especially knowing that, compared to hard drug trafficking, the case is only a "slap on the hand and maybe the wallet" but compared to Hard Drug trafficking is far more lucrative and a lot less risque.

Re: Felix Jones Adds Community Charm

What's the link on FaceBook?

Re: Gunman Surrenders in Fernandina

Censorship nonetheless.

Re: Fernandina Residents Rally Behind Felix Jones

Here is a suggestion for the City Council. In stead of trying to find ways to make him compliant, they should assist him in his effort by a mentoring program. Isn't that something that normally falls within the competence of the Chamber of Commerce? Well it is at least in our "under developed area". Or maybe there is something like a small business association. Hey there is an Idea for Jamie. small fee assistance to help new start-ups succeed.

However back to Felix. If the city commissioners go strictly by the book and overcome all above mentioned issues about safety, labeling, etc. ect. there is still the old ordinance of 1955 that hangs in the air (not to allow street or door-to-door vendind within the city limits so technically, even after complying to all other hurdles, they can still enforce the antiquated law?

Be on your guard tonight since the city council still has to scrap the ordinance from the books!!!

Re: Fernandina Residents Rally Behind Felix Jones

Now see, there is where the fault comes in.
