I have only bought clothes from the internet once or twice. I have to know if it fits exactly like I want before I buy it. I have to go to a store and hold and try it on. Therefore the branding exercise that some brands perform works best on me. Nice and entertaining online, then when I'm in an actual store, it will be in the top of my mind, so to speak...

The important thing is to make it look good and make the experience go further than the clothes, for me at least. Underwear obviously works best. Simplicity rules! A lot of clicky, flicky, rollover stuff doesn't do it for me. Bjorn Borg really does the job there. I think the net-a-porter really fits in with the "I'm gonna blog about what I and other people wear" kinda thing, like http://thesartorialist.blog.... A bit to savvy for me.

We have been given the gift of time! If you loose your job you have even more time to invest in yourself. And the best thing is that it's free, since you don't have anything else to do. And since you can get a masters degree in just about anything just by clicking a bit with your mouse on the internet (which also is free! almost) I say go for it! Reinvent yourself and explode when the time is right!

A lot of people have spoken about Farfar Academy being the creatives/strategists and Hyper Island the producers. I'm not so sure about that. I mean, I do a pretty good job around flash and stuff like that and I know there are a lot of hidden talents among us Farfar Academiens. The Hyper guys also have a great deal of what we supposedly should be better at. For instance the art director for Hotel626 is a Hyper graduate: http://hyperisland.blogspot....

What I'm trying to say is that I actually get quiet jealous when they launch their new sites. I mean, why couldn't we have done something like that? We have the skills and the passion, right? So what if the idea and execution lacks a bit of substance. It's still cool to look at and we're talking about it.

I've never understood the value of Twitter, a whole website for just your facebook status. I've understood that some people use it as a kind of group chat tool, which is interesting but not really what it's for (at least not according to the little informational video on their site). The increase in traffic I think is due to the fact that interesting, supposedly Obama and the Dalai Lama, people have joined Twitter and other people want to know what's going on in these peoples lives. So they also join just to follow them.

I'm not a fan anyway.

I'm on it right now and according to the schedule there should be some interview but there is only some boring elevator music...

But I like the concept. Its like the old college radios in USA. Remember Beverly Hills 90210. David Silver turning the tables at recess. For some reason I come to think of the old 60s movie "American Graffiti". My dad had the soundtrack on vinyl and it was actually kind of the reason why I started playing guitar. I guess the music on W+K sounds a lot like it.

I agree, It needs some more explanation. But if you but it in the right context it is absolutely valid. In traditional advertising you buy the consumers attention on TV or on billboards etc; eg. you buy their time. In digital advertising you work to earn the consumers attention and therefore create time between the brand and the consumer.
