I love this idea! As someone who's building her cooking repertoire I've found crock pot recipes to be helpful in addition to Bethenny Frankel's website & books (of Real Housewives fame). She's really healthy and they are super easy to make!

I hate those "pillow baby" models. It's absurd that the editorials and ads make the clothes look one way when the fact of the matter is most women gain weight all over when pregnant. Not a ton, mind you, but the emaciated waif with a healthy baby bump is just plain creepy!

My dad grew up in New Canaan and had a fairly good experience there...This was in the 60's-80's and it was very big money then (still is I guess) so sometimes those expectations can be hard if you don't fit the mold (aka a brand new BMW on your 16th bday).

His family home was just down the block from where Anne Coulter grew-up too...Oh the stories!

This is a really great piece Lena!

I remember perusing "He's Just Not That Into You" my freshman year of college (in '05) and immediately hating it. It was very disconcerting to see my friends attempt to get over break-ups and rejection with it, I thought the advice (and tone) was completely ridiculous.

I think it's silly to define human behavior based solely on gender (men do this, women do that) and such classifications only isolate and hurt people.

Yes, I think it is. My style is very 'formed' in that I know what I like to wear, what looks good on me, and how I want to look. My SO doesn't really care either way, and as a slim guy he usually wears jeans, pumas, t shirts, and sometimes a dress shirt.

He has expressed a desire to change his style up a little and look a little more 'done' and professional, so I'm going to help him start an "adult" wardrobe. Before he asked me to help him I did say that I wanted to spruce him up a little, if only to make him look all the more handsome =)

I do not think it's superficial to want to look good or express this feeling to others. I try not to judge people by how they present themselves, but let's face it, first impressions count. You don't have to be in haute couture, but looking clean cut and put together is good for anyones self esteem.

but a Honda gets you from point A to B just as a Ferrari does. And your feet will not be pinched in a nice pair of Italian loafers as opposed to some knock-offs from Payless.

My point is that all luxury items are equal regardless of their 'purpose'. After all even if they are more functional than one another they can still be replaced with a more economical item.

Yes, there are male specific insults, but it seems the ones directed at women are used more by the opposite sex in an effort to offend us.

In addition, how often do you hear "bastard" instead of its female counterpart "bitch"? I'm guessing the later is a lot more popular than the former.
