Once again we have a bunch of spinless council members who do not have the cojones to say no. It is also a disgrace that a bunch of lame ducks are spending money they know the City does not have. We only have ourselves to blame. We keep electing these morons and they never fail to disappoint us with their totally senseless acts. The acts of Franz seem to be the actions of someone on the verge of a breakdown - coming to tears beacuse a bunch of freeloaders are going to be evicted. Gimme a break

Once again the idiots on the City Council have been taken advantage of by the Staff. Since the Staff is running the city we should eliminate the middle men and just pick seven random city employees and make them the Council.

It shoud be a no-brainer what to cut. Tax dollars are paid to support city services - not non profits. The residents of Bainbridge if they so choose can make their own donations to non-profits that they beleive in. As much as I beleive in the arts it is not for the responsibility of the taxpayers to support them. If the majority of the City Council had a clue they would cut funding to the winslow way project. Funding that, when the city cannot pay its bills, is the equivalent of the homewoner who can not pay his mortgage adding an addition to his house. It does not make sense to me that Mr. Peters now wants ""o have a profound review of our finances". As he been asleep for the last year - I thought that is what the City Council purportedly had been doing. It never ceases to amaze me the incompetence of the Mayor and the Council - you would think Bainbridge could do better!

The BI finance director is either being disinegenuous or incompetent if he did not foresee the worsening economy. Instewad of borrowing why doesn't the city acutally cut the overpaid and underworked staff. It is time the council act like adults and say no to all the special interests who think they are entitled to the citizens hard earned dollars.
