You're right - Seattle doesn't have a 'lack of character' - the problem is the fact that the character it DOES have isn't something that I necessarily find appealing. In my (albeit limited) experience there, I've never encountered the same community, creativity, and togetherness that I love so much about living in Baltimore. I also remember mentioning to you last summer that I missed the 'grit' of the east coast while in Seattle. Although these were small complaints at the time, I could imagine them compounding over the course of 2 years. On the other hand, it's entirely possible that I would find that I didn't really them at all. Who knows. Decisions, decisions.

I've been working at WF for the better part of this year, and I'd really like to continue if I can. Soundgarden is not a guarantee at this point, but I was assured by several employees that I would get the job. Who knows, though.

i'm really liking it so far. 'two weeks' is immediately a standout (nice touch with the beach house piano). this honestly seems like a somewhat natural progression for the band, although after hearing dept of eagles i would never have predicted an album like this. very pleased with how this turned out.

unfortunately the leak is at a stunning 128kbps (equiv. to listening to a myspace stream underwater). there's going to be a HUGE difference in sound between this and the actual album. edward mentioned it, but yeah. i'm waiting.

I completely agree RE:skating's influence on musical tastes. 2 broken arms was a small price to pay for Fugazi, Minor Threat, the Misfits, Black Flag, the Replacements, etc.
