Nice piece Jon and Alex. I have to add that going to see Yankee Stadium (is it called I or Old) with Monument Park and the small concourses was something I was glad I got to do. As someone whose team was those 70s Dodgers teams, I probably never suffered a defeat as much as I did the 1978 team and I think I too thought when they won in 1981, hmm, I thought winning would mean more. But no question it was great.

I still think Herrera is safe since the Dodgers will likely want to switch out one of their outfielders for defense and Mattingly has played Herrera a few times at short. Kennedy's contract is less of an hassle than Uribe's. But I think both will be gone after a deal for someone to play 3B.

There are but few bats and less prospects for teams to get from the Dodgers, for many reasons, this ownership change could be a year too late to make a big splash.

They are doing this every Wednesday (one game they are playing at 12:30) but the rest at 3:35. I don't know, more business for the Gaslamp?

It will be interesting to see if he sits a lot against right-handed pitchers (as the Dodgers are only scheduled to face 2 left-handed starters in their next 14 games this month.)

in their next 56 games, the only teams currently over .500 are the Cardinals (3), the A's (3) and the Mets (4). Yes, they have Philadelphia (4), the Brewers (4), Diamondbacks (9) and the Giants (3) more times within that span plus 15 with the AL.

Disclosure would have been best though it was and has been MLB (Selig and owners) who allowed the team and land to be split and then in Bankruptcy Court, their legal team could not convince the Court to add the parking lots to the assets to be sold. As Kasten said to ESPN 710 yesterday, they did the best as they could to gain as much control to that land but [McCourt] did not have to include it and that was a the leverage they had to deal with.

I will remember Blake's walk in the 9th in Game 2 of the 2009 NLDS. He seemed to be one of those great club house guys and was along with Juan Pierre, good influences on the young Matt Kemp.

The Bulls did win their fair share games this year without Rose and Philly is an 8th seed. It is probably the combo of Rose and (wait for it) Noah that was too much to deal with in this series.
