In a perfect world mothers might choose to stay home and give the kids the attention they definately need but we don't live in a perfect world. For many women it's a matter of survival. I started my business at home 15+ years ago so I could be there for my children. You bring up entirely different issue that has nothing to do with job fairness!

Re: Miss Universe on Women in the Workplace

As a WBENC I was very interested to read this post. It doesn't matter that some things are jobs that can be done by anyone. If they aren't done, me and my business are adversely affected. That being said: insurance company's are controlling it now and that is also troubling. If they had played fair, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Sooner or later everyone is going to have some kind of pre-existing condition and might be precluded from coverage or offered it at an impossible price.

Re: How Twitter Helps a CEO Run His Company

Okay, maybe I can see that this is a good use of Twitter. This was a good article about any gender boss. I've had some men bosses along the way that fit both of these descriptions. There is a correct balance, the trick is finding it.

Re: Inc. 500 Conference: How to Get Your Message Right

Great reminders. I am going to give our new people more background on our company and it's beginning. We are a data entry/document scanning company that started with one good contract in the garage because I wanted to be home with the kids. The kids are gone now but I am still here and using other moms that want to work but be available to their kids. I have some people that have worked for 10+ years with me but I recognize from your article that I need to do a better job of orienting new people.

Re: ‘Tis the Season for Retail; Is Being King Overrated?

I appreciate the take on "be rich" or "be king."
