I finally admitted to myself I needed more help with my PTSD and I'm one week into psychiatric medication. I am grateful that many people here shared their stories regarding mental health and medication.

I am a little nervous about all of this, but I am grateful for the sheer privilege of being able to take what I assume is expensive medication with the goal of being a better person.

Thank y'all for your inspiration.

I will go back to lurking now.

100% agree. Like articulating things I've felt but never articulated. Thank you!

I feel like Biden has become a proxy for a certain type of older straight white dude who knows he crossed some lines in the past, but now treats women differently. He doesn't want accountability for his past; that projects onto Biden.

2004 I think? Linked here with friends. Really opened my mind up to what Feminism should have been. Over the years, y'all've shared authors with me, most note ably bell hooks, which has blown my mind.

I'm still passing out copies of "The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love."

I also remember the birth of "hey your gay" and "pathetic anger bread". :)

While it's been part of my self care, I've taught myself how to make baguettes that are delicious. I've stopped buying store bought bread. I think I can learn to be a good kitchen chef!

If the civil rights act doesn't protect sexual orientation, I fear that is going to be used to further erode LGBTQIA rights and protections.

I've had a lot of work stress and soccer cult stress with Pride Month, so my cooking has fallen by the wayside. To counter this, I made a delicious pork roast. I normally serve this on a bed of mixed greens from the grocery store.

5 lbs pork roast
3 cups of Wine
6 garlic cloves
Salt & Pepper

Put Pork in Crock Pot.
Pour Wine in Crock Pot
Throw 6 cloves of garlic in Crock Pot.
Salt and Pepper the top of the pork roast

Close lid. Let cook on high 8 hours.
