I learned how to chain from my grandmother when I was 7 years old. It was the only crochet stitch she knew. I made chains a mile long. Then she faithfully sewed them together by hand into little round spiral potholders. After a couple of years of chains, I found a book at the library that told me how to do single crochet and make a square. It was love at first stitch!

Create one or more scrapbook pages of the event live at the event. Keep it digital and send copies to all the attendees with an email address. For the Mommy-to-be, print her set out for her.

Vickie, I say a prayer of thanksgiving to God that you, your son, and your unborn daughter are okay. You are a bright spot on the internet and on TV for me (I'm disabled at home), and would have grieved for my friend, even though I've never met you face-to-face. Take care . . . you are bound to be sore from the wreck, and emotionally drained.

When I get to a challenging part of my work, I like to have grand, beautiful music such as Sarah Brightman or Alessandro Safina. When the work is more repetitive and mindless, I can listen to audiobooks or TV news, documentaries, etc. And for the design portion of my creative output, I soak in the silence.
